The Natural Fridge Odor Absorber from Santa Barbara Naturals is a Green Odorless GEL. The active ingredient that makes the product work so well is food-grade carrageenan. Carrageenan is derived from naturally grown seaweed. The carrageenan is mixed into a water solution (using de-ionized water for purity) and also food grade sodium chloride. The sodium Chloride helps to slow the decay of foods. The gel has a faint smell of chlorine when you first activate - this will disappear after about half an hour and then the product remains odorless. The Gel is sealed in the container with a plastic inner seal. It will not start to work until the inner seal is removed (to do this, remove the white vent cap from the top of the container, remove the inner seal and replace the white vent cap firmly). Place the container in the middle of the Fridge in an upright position. Once activated the Gel evaporates in the Fridge - seeking out the gases and absorbing them at their source. The active gel will reach all parts of a full size refrigerator and give complete odor control for about 12 weeks. Compare us to baking soda which is inactive. The odors in the fridge need to travel to the baking soda box for it to work. If the odors settle on food before reaching the box then the cross contamination of food flavors occurs. Also, because the baking soda does not evaporate it will last forever - long after it has stopped working. The box most times only gets replaced when it is knocked over and spills in the fridge! Unlike traditional baking soda, the Natural Fridge Odor Absorber gel will not spill if it is knocked over. The Natural Fridge Odor Absorber by Santa Barbara Naturals has a temperature sensitive sticker on the front of the container that reads 'OK' when the temperature in the fridge reaches the recommended 34-40 degrees F.

Impressive!
Incredible product! Does the job as advertised! I have a small fridge. Before I left for the summer, I unplugged the fridge but I left a frozen meal in the freezer by mistake. You can't even fathom the stench it left when I returned! I scrubbed the entire fridge over and over again with bleach, Lysol, and whatever else I could find. I left the fridge open for two full weeks but the stench wouldn't quite go away. When I read the reviews for this product, you can image that I was very skeptical but I gave it a change. Wow! After putting this thing in my small fridge for just one day, it took the lingering stench (of a dead mouse really) away!! They claim this thing lasts for a full four months. If this is the case, it must be one of the greatest inventions right next to American apple pie :) Needless to say, I highly recommend this product over baking soda or anything else.

Only buy this if you are looking for best air cleaner for fridge
I have tried other brands, but nothing compares to this one in making the fruits and vegetable last longer in the fridge. Other brands only remove bad order inside the fridge, but this one is totally different level. The gel doesn’t smell artificial. It feels like medium hard jelly when I touch it. I will always buy this one for life. If you also use patented vegetable and fruit wash before putting V & F inside the fridge, you will see that the V & F last for 2 to 4 weeks in a fridge. Definitely use this if you are bored of going for groceries while also want fresh foods.

Fridge Odor Absorber
A jar of chopped garlic got spilled in my fridge and I had a terrible time getting rid of the odor. I cleaned and tried the regular baking soda route. No joy there. I put one of these in my freezer, another in the fridge compartment, and the odor went away in no time. I keep this in my fridge all the time now.

Good value and it really works!
Not often I write reviews on products, but this product really works well. My fridge smelled like a wet dog from all the produce and dairy. I received this item three days ago and put one in the fridge. The odor was gone overnight! If this product lasts as long as they claim (12 weeks), it will be more cost effective than Arm and Hammer product that cost the same per item, but only lasts 4 weeks.

Active ingredients might have changed?
I used to buy these at a local international market years ago. Back then, I kept kimchi in my refrigerator, and the container didn't seal well. Despite this, my fridge did not have a whiff of stank upon opening the door, so long as one of these was in there.Recently I bought a few from this listing and I noticed today that despite my fridge being relatively clean, and nothing fermenting, there's still an off smell. (I take everything out and wipe it down every 4-6 weeks, and I cook at least 2x a day, rotating my stock regularly.) This never would have happened if it were the Bouchard absorbers I bought years ago.If the ingredients have changed (possibly due to some sort of regulation, etc) that would be unfortunate. As far as I know, there's never been a better product for this purpose. (I've tried everything - and baking soda is worthless btw.)Guess I'll go through all the ones I bought and then revisit this review. *fingers crossed*

Works!
This product really does it’s job! Initially I bought it for a smell I just couldn’t shift but it did such a good job that I have since purchased it again. I know it’s hard to be excited about a fridge deodorizer but this one is good.

This really absorbs nasty smells!!
I had a head of cabbage that stunk up the fridge with its pungent sulphur smells. It was so bad that the kitchen would smell of cabbage sulfur whenever the fridge was opened. I used baking soda with no improvement, so I bought this 8 pack in case I needed more than 1 to do the job. I put one in the fridge immediately after I received it and after 24 hours the smell was noticeably reduced. After 48 hours, the smell was gone. The head of cabbage was in the fridge the whole time. Definitely worth $5 each to get rid of fridge funk.
