Speaking as a grandmother, this would be a spectacular book to share with my youngest loved ones. But don't be fooled. It is a "scrumplicious" read for even the eldest among us, for we all have a little child within who, when spoken to, can return us instantly to the time when uninhibited wonder, fear, courage, laughter, tears, and adventure filled every moment of our innocent lives. This magical tale is delightfully told through the heart of a small child that will soften even the most wounded or hardened among us. This fable has hidden within the wisdom of the ages that urges each of us to drop our defensive pretenses and allow our true selves to shine like the diamonds that we really are. Don't miss out on this author's first entry into this genre. What a delightful new foray into the grand tradition of fairy tales! The humorously-sculpted central figures that carry us through this adventure are an unlikely trio set on a misguided mission certain to bring them wealth and happiness. Unfortunately, they are a bit self-deluded in their readiness for such a bold venture. But not to worry! In fine form, their journey, with its full complement of mystical and frightening creatures, ...with its twists and turns laced with detours and dangers and discoveries, ...ultimately has its own transforming way with the trio, ...in most charming and unexpected and entertaining ways.My 10 year old grandson also read this book through in one sitting (he’s a voracious reader). He immediately insisted his family should reread it out loud together. Now that’s a recommendation!

This is a brand new old fairy tale that is wonderful fun for all ages. it is particularly fun to read out loud, together with children or, I'll bet, even on your own! Beautifully crafted writing that draws you in and holds you, leaving you wanting more!

This book is not only entertaining, but powerful in teaching life lessons as well. I was so absorbed in the book, I stayed up until 1:00 a.m. to read the first half of it. The second night, once again, I couldn't put it down and finished it late at night. I highly recommend this book as not only entertainment, but also as a valuable learning tool for children growing up in their interaction with both children and adults. This book is a wonderful gift for children 10 and older. Even I, at 69, loved the story.

What a delightful book! I can't wait for Book II. Sheila Silverman Taube paints vivid pictures with words and draws you into an exciting adventure that at first seems like a child's tale. Read deeper. You will find treasure that will change your life. When people lash out at you, say hurtful things to you, have scheming intentions, instead of reacting, shunning them, avoiding them, recognize how your own fear keeps you from seeing beneath their wounding to their own unhealed wounds. Accept them, appreciate their journey, smile at them with your heart, and you will free both them and yourself.The next time you enter the drama/trauma of your family, read this to yourself and make it your mantra:"Sometimes when peace cannot be made we just have to allow the wind to blow. I am an adult fan of children's literature as the very best pieces always require me to leave the impersonal monotony of the daily treadmill and immerse myself in the most enduring values that connect all of us as human beings regardless of race, religion, nationality, or gender. And if we were fortunate, we first might have discovered many of these values as children: imagination, friendship, hope, love, understanding, and compassion. Ms. Taube's tale is one of these pieces that reminds us of the absolute necessity of these qualities in the world today. Our guides on this journey are three characters whose weaknesses we can both laugh at as well as recognize as being all too familiar in ourselves. In addition, in "The Three Thieves and the Magic Tears," we meet the denizens of four extremely different regions. Yet they all live in harmony with the members of their tribe and have great respect for nature--both for its beauty and its power. As our guides transform in their social interactions, identities, expectations, and goals, so do we, the readers. To be truly alive requires one to acquire and maintain some degree of self-awareness and compassion for all living entities as we seek to conquer our darkest fears and embrace forgiveness--mostly of ourselves. Friendship, love, and understanding are the foundations of humanity, our most powerful quality, and Ms. Taube's book requires a reader of any age to ponder that. Just finished this Uber Story! "The Three Thieves and the Magic Tears." Couldn't put it down! I found it most delightful, humorous, educational, inspirational, enchanting, with so many wonderful spiritual messages. Simply Fabulous!!!!! Not just for kids either!

What an enchanting book that takes you on a magical ride through a magical forest with 3 very enchanting figures. The story may be a fairy tale but there was deep thought and imagination on creating the personalities of these Three Thieves. I can't wait for the next adventure.
