As someone who's had a beard off and on for the better part of a decade, I've gone through my fair share of beard products. For the most part they're all very similar. The washes for the most part clean and leave a very squeaky clean (almost dry) feeling out of the shower. Conditioners help a bit after a wash, but not anything to write home about, the only one I've tried that I really liked was Scotch Porter. Oils help in hydrating, some are excessively oily and just don't look very appealing. Balms will help tidy up the overall shape of the beard, some are not really strong enough and just end up being another layer of oil on the wiskers. Ok, now for this review... So I believe this to be the most natural and most effective line of products I've found to date. First off, the wash, oh my, the wash... I could really just stop right there. This is my favorite of the line. It leaves my beard so soft I find myself not wanting to ruin it with a conditioner. If you try just one of these product, the wash is a must. Next we have the detangler, this is pretty much a leave in conditioner. It softens out the beard even further and adds a slickness to the beard, it feels great. The oil in the set is probably unnecessary since the wash and detangler do such a great job, but in any case it is a quality oil. The reason I say this is because it doesn't really stay oily in the hair, you can feel that after initially applying, it does absorb into either the follicle or skin, whichever it's intended to. As I mentioned, there are some oils that just don't do that, it's just greasy all day long. The balm is probably my least favorite of the line, but only because it's not a very strong holding balm. It's kind of like I mentioned, another layer of oil. This one does also absorb so it's ok. I prefer a more tacky balm with more wax rather than oils. Also, the scent of this line is a subtle chocolatey vanilla kind of smell. It's a very pleasant scent that my wife also enjoyed initially. However after about a week or so of using the product, I no longer get so much as a whiff, which is fine, I find that to be common with many of these beard oils and such. So, overall a great set of products that leave my beard feeling soft and hydrated all day long, it also feels like quality, in the sense that it does absorb. It doesn't feel like you just applied baby oil all over your face. I cannot stress this point enough, there are some "name brand" beard care product that feel as such. That's why this product line really stands out to me. Five stars...

So far so great! We got this for my husbands beard cuz his hair has been getting more dry and you can already notice a difference in the texture and softness of it. The smell is great and not over powering. Definitely great for moisturizing dry coily hair.

Perfect for all beards. Especially if you live in cold weather or are a black man that doesn’t have a strait “Viking” style beard. My beard gets smushed and tangled every night when i sleep. This product leaves your beard moisturized and clean without the oily/glossy Rick Ross look. And the scent is subtle like a nice room.

My boyfriend has had a beard for a couple of years now, and he's never once bought anything for it. I, however, have spent numerous hours watching videos, reading reviews, etc. Everything he has, beard related, is something I picked out. From his sandalwood comb, and boar brush, to his wash, oils, butters, and wax. Even his Norelco, and hair/beard straightener. He's been using Professor Fuzzworthy's Beard Shampoo, which I recommend, because it's a bar, that will literally last you about a year, if used once daily. I also recommend a Soap Lift "dish", for your bar, if you're interested. He's then using Seven Potions Oil (Citrus Tonic) and Detroit Grooming Co. butter, in the Leland scent (which is AMAZING). The absolute BEST product I have found, is that butter. It smells ridiculously good (mango + lime), and works great! He was running low on oil, but also, since his beard has got long, we've noticed knots/tangles becoming common. I ended up here because I ventured out in search of a beard detangler/conditioner. Since this kit has it all, I was interested. It's pretty cheap, considering all you get, which did worry me, but I figured it'd be good enough for now. This kit is pretty good, but not great. I really like the scent! When I hug him, it's a very soft scent, that reminds me of vanilla, cookies, or milk chocolate/cocoa. It doesn't smell exactly like coco butter, but I'd definitely put it in that family. Doesn't at all smell like citrus, cologne/athletic, woodsy, or earthy. In my opinion, it's a warm scent, in the vanilla tobacco realm. It softens his beard, but not as good as the butter I've previously mentioned, and we have noticed that he still has kinks that are difficult to comb through, after applying the conditioner. He hasn't bothered with the beard balm in this kit, but when he does, I'll give an update. I have two complaints, 1) it's filled with a ton of stuff that's clearly not organic. No different than store bought hair products. When you're dealing with a beard, having alcohol on the list of ingredients (among other things), is somewhat concerning. We all know alcohol to be drying. Nowadays, the majority of beard products, pride themselves on only having a few ingredients, and those few ingredients being all-natural, and nothing that would strip the beard of its natural oils, and moisture. 2) I thought the beard conditioner would be for shower usage. It is not. It's yet another product you guys will have to use, outside of the shower. That was really disappointing for me because I try to keep things quick, and convenient for him, in fear that he will lose interest if I overwhelm him with 10 million grooming steps. I thought it would be simple, shampoo and conditioner in the shower, oil outside of the shower. Figured he could wash his beard, put the conditioner in, wash off, rinse, hop out. He's been using the products, just fine, for a week now, but I know how after a while, (as a female) you just get tired of all of the maintenance steps. How you eventually get to where you're no longer applying your moisturizer, and other skin products, every. single. day. I have three brothers, and was raised by a single father. I know that guys are even worse with all of that. I also know that guys prefer things to be short, and sweet when it comes to reading reviews, so, I'll shut up now, haha. For the price, this is a solid kit. It could be better, but then it would cost a lot more. Again, I LOVE the scent. All in all, it's worth giving a shot!

The Detangler/Conditioner - Honestly I love this stuff it works like a charm after the first use it makes your beard look FULLER, less patchy, more soft, easier to manage for grooming The Oil - Beard oil is perhaps one of the most important things you can do for your beard this oil keeps it moisturized, conditions it, makes it soft so your beard doesn't feel like a Brillo pad all dry and looking like trash on your chin and it also stops the itching of growing a beard The Balm - At first I didn't really care for the balm because I didn't know or understand how important it is when you go out, on a date, or just to take the trash out! This has the right ingredients to style your beard, tame your beard, and learn your beard, it's thick and firm enough to hold and last all day great every day tool This product line is designed for black men, we have different hair, different textures so we need different care for our beards! It's all natural, smells AMAZING, and it has great ingredients just read them!
