Picasso and the Art of Drawing.
A dedicated study of Picasso`s drawings, examining his development from his student days through all the key periods of his career. Picasso`s detractors often forget (or choose to ignore) that he underwent a through classical art training; every development of his art was informed by his understanding of art history and developments in the Modernist movement. Lloyd's text is intelligent and clear, providing a fair account of the fundamental importance of drawing in the artist's process and how it provided a tool for exploration and experimentation throughout his life. The book is well-illustrated with some 143 colour illustrations, including works that are rarely (if ever) reproduced in other books. A useful addition to the art library even if you already have other books on Picasso; it would also make a good introduction for anyone who is uncertain about the artist's work and wishes to gain an understanding of it.

PIC.ASSO WAS NOT A GENIUS OF DRAWING LIKE RAPHAEL MICHELANGELO ,VAN GOGH ,DEGAS WATTEAU REMBRANDT
I thought about buying this book but having seen the contents i changed my mind. Picasso like his friend Matisse was essentially a decorator and the drawings are not breathtakingly good like those of Raphael for instance it is said that he went beyond Ingres in his mastery of line .an art critic,s opinion rather than that of a true scholar of Drawing.Look at Michelangelo,Rembrandt, watteau,Rubens Carracci Durer ,Menzel ,Degas ,Van Gogh and abut 20 others masters at the most to learn from
