Concise summary
The author pulls together a useful set of philosophies and explains how to put them into practice, in an integrative way, quite clearly and practically.I think it hits the mark as a self-help book with universal appeal. My only criticism is the homogeneity of the examples - I wondered at some point whether it was written on assignment for single, young male students.

Great Gift for the young person starting out.
This beautifully illustrated book is a unique contribution to the productivity and lifestyle management genre by interleaving the concepts of Lingchi, Hansei, Kaizen, and recently popularized in the West, Ikigai. I was a little turned off in the introductory pages on the focus of productivity but as I read on the book opened into a more wholistic and human centered approach to building a balanced life. This is an excellent book for the older high school student or young adult as it introduces concepts about living a human life that some folks go to their graves without learning.

Good breakdown of concepts
I liked that this book broke down the concepts of the four subjects into clear and easy to understand steps.I did not like that it was verbose and read like it was written by ChatGPT. If you have a great vocabulary you may enjoy this book.I also did not like that it seemed to be written with the assumed audience of a 20 something male. I did not feel like it was written to be universal. Also the author gave lots of health advice without explaining their healthcare expertise or medical background. That seems dangerous and unethical to me.

Eye Opening Self Help
The Ikegai & Kaizen is an effective way to help start good habits that lead to personal growth and achievement. I never really looked at the methods to do approach goals the way the book explains. Raymond lays out the philosophy well and I’m intrigued to read more about these strategies.

Love this book!
I've been interested in the concept of Ikigai for awhile, so when I saw the book on Kindle, I ordered it. I usually get about 1/3 of the way through a personal development type book, but read this one the whole way through! It was written really well, explaining each concept and having them build on each other. It was really helpful in explaining the concepts and helping me apply them to my own life goals.
