Wrong chess/checkers board printing
Good quality and size for the money. The problem is with the chess/checkers board printing. It is wrong: the bottom right square is black, while it should be white. Such an obvious mistake should have been avoided.

This board is quite large; check the dimensions to make sure you want something this size before ordering! This would be great for a Sr center or community center, or for anyone who prefers a larger board and pieces (and has room to store it!)I personally find the sound of these game pieces to be too clank-y, almost like a dull sounding chime against this wood surface.They are quite loud.The board is beautiful. The workmanship is not perfect but it is pretty.The magnetic closure is strong yet fairly easy to open; it does have a little resistance to it.I was not too impressed with either dice sets; aesthetically, neither the speckled opaque grey nor the translucent blue color has nothing to do with the rest of the game.The pieces slide smoothly through over the board.

Exceptional Craftsmanship
I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful this backgammon board is. The inlaid wood is perfectly smooth and the box closes with all edges matched up. I personally wouldn't use this as a travel game due to the weight and the overall beauty of it. I see smaller boards made from plastic as travel games and I just can't see letting this get banged up in the car. This came packaged in a box in a box and wrapped in plastic, the presentation wasn't there, but after you unwrap it you can see that this looks like a $300 board. If I could have parted with it, it would have needed repackaging to give it the high end look it deserves. This was a great buy for such a quality board and would make a great gift for anyone who loves quality crafted items
