Lovely needles, smelly case
I only started knitting recently, and after being gifted a shorter pair to get started, I decided to buy a whole set of the 35cm needles. The pros:- The needles themselves have been comfortable to use, and I haven't had any instances of the stitches catching on the metal. The stitches slide easily off the ends, and while they felt a bit unwieldy than my 25cm pair to start, I've found that using longer needles have helped correct some of the initial issues I had with uneven and tight tension as a beginner.- They're a lot prettier to look at than basic metal needles. I'm not sure if the colours are to differentiate between sizes as some of the chunkier needles I got to supplement the set are in the same colour as some of the smaller ones, but it does make it a bit easier to remember which ones to use at a glance. I've already had someone asking about them to get their own!- The set includes (as far as I can see) a lot of commonly-used sizes, so would be good for someone who may have several projects on the go, or a beginner who wants to try knitting with a lot of different yarn weights/thicknesses who didn't get along with wooden or plastic needles.- The range has a lot of additional sizes, so if you do want to supplement the set with additional needle sizes that are just as pretty, the option is there.- Getting them as a set may save some money; I've seen the pairs individually cost anything from around £3.00 to £6.00 each depending on the size chosen, and there are eight pairs in this set.The cons:- The colour is a little easier to rub away than I would like, but part of it may be my initial way of knitting when I first started and it's inevitable the colour will wear down a little over time from normal friction.- They're a little easier to accidentally curve than I expected, especially in smaller sizes. Some may find this a problem, but I've found them fine so far.- More a criticism of Amazon here - After ordering, I found out I could have gotten them cheaper at several craft websites. If I had known this (and I hadn't have had a gift card balance) I would have bought them elsewhere. I'll be getting double-pointed and circular needles from another site in the future.- The case. It's a bit hard to get the needles out, and the case I received does not have a clear window. However, that's not the deal-breaker...it's the smell. Some have described the case smelling like chemicals, but to me, the second I opened the plastic, I was hit with an overwhelming smell of excrement that hasn't gone away. Even after airing out, and spraying with air-freshener and perfume, the stench still contaminates anything it touches and can be smelled from the other end of the room. I accidentally rested the case on a shirt that had been recently washed, and have had to wash it again. I picked up the case and had to scrub my hands immediately afterwards because it was all I could smell. Leave this in a house for too long, and I'm pretty sure it would lower the property value. Conclusion:Overall, I'm glad I started with the Zing needles and that I bought this set, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a set of metal knitting needles for themselves, or wants to gift them to a keen knitter. That being said...if you value good-smelling things, or you're giving this as a present for someone you actually like, either add a separate case to your order and chuck this one to the deepest part of a bin as soon as you get the needles out, or if you can find a good sale, buy the pairs of needles separately with whichever case you want.

Love them
I love these needles. I bought the 35cm set first and loved them so much I bought the 40cm set for when I have a large number of stitches on my needle.I will admit for me the 35cm are a very comfortable length to use the 40cm slightly long for me but better than struggling with too many stitches on a needle. You get a 3.5mm needle, instead of 3.25mm and 3.75mm. Not an issue for me as I tend to use a smaller needle than patterns state.I like the different colours and the wool slides nicely on and off needles.Have I said I love these!

Not in the case advertised
I was very disappointed when my order arrived.I ordered this item not only for the needles (which are great) but also for the transparent case, which I didn't receive.
