Heater is well designed and works fine; a good bargain
Heater is well designed and works fine; a good bargain. A reviewer reported "aluminum wire" in the provided cord set. I cut the cordset and found 20 gauge stranded "copper wires" for my heater. 20 gauge copper is good for 3.5 Amps, just big enough for this 350 Watt heater. This cordset should not be used on a large welder!

GREAT little hotplate. Makes phone repair (adhesive softening) a LOT easier!
Great, affordable little hotplate. Gets hot enough to reflow/flow surface mount components (SMC) PC boards, so if you like to custom build or modify your own arduino boards or servo/motor controllers.. then this is worth a try.I found another use for it: shrink tubing :-) I made a bunch of battery connectors and just set them on the plate (the shrink tubing I use seems to like ~200ºC or so) and they all tighten up like clockwork! I recall thinking "So THATS how they do it"! Of course "They" probably do it in an oven but anyways...I repair our phones and this really makes adhesive mounted screens EASY.This is small enough to tuck out of the way, is perfect for arduino and CNC/3D-printer controller boards but is too small for large boards or ipad repair.*Update: I have found another great use for this thing: Coffee Warmer! I had it sitting on my desk, turned off, and cold...and my coffee was sitting next to it....cold and getting colder... and then it hit me: It's a hot plate...a configurable hot plate :-D It now does primary duties when i need SMC, pretty shrink tubing, and de-screening of phones.. and when it's not earning it's living it's keeping my coffee hot! :-)You can't go wrong at this price point!

Does the job.
This works great for soldering SMDs. It takes its time getting to temperature, but it does get there. I use Chipquik low-temperature paste. It's fun to watch the parts just magically solder themselves. It doesn't do soldering profiles - you just set the temperature.

It works great so far!
So far I'm using it at a hot plate to reflow solder LEDs on custom PC boards. It works great in that job. I'm 100% teased with the performance so far.

Perfect for heating a board.
I'm not great at rework stuff, but this made it much easier. No more blowing components away trying to work on the chip I'm after. Preheat everything, and then much less hot air is required.
