As one generally expects, you get what you pay for. A replacement branded Nikon battery can cost you upwards of £40, and anyone who is going away for an important event always wants that extra photograph that your battery may not want you to get. This battery fits a Nikon D5000 and presumably therefore any other camera that requires this battery. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, but unlike the true branded batteries, it doesn't give you as long. Possibly the major problem with this battery though is it's discharge rate. Out of the camera, this battery I have found is discharged in under a week so it's really a desperate use item, but has saved my neck in the past.Not to say don't buy. If you're worried about your battery not lasting for the entire wedding/party/safari/weekend, it's useful to have this as an extra to cover you for some more shots, but it will not last nearly as long as the genuine thing.

As stated in the other review, this is NOT a genuine Nikon battery. However it does work fine as a battery in any Nikon camera that takes an EN-EL9 battery.Amazon wont let me state that these are available at other prices elsewhere!

Well if you buy a charger you need a battery, and this didi just the trick, allowas me to ahev a spare battery, and delivered on time and punctual, no complaints

This is a good value battery for the Nikon D40. It holds it's charge and seems to work very well.

This battery was as I expected as I already had one and just needed a spare. The price was very good.

Well I haven't used it yet but have tried it put in the camera and it works I just hope itLasts.excellent delivery very fast and packaged well

Excellent value for money but should have bought two as this battery does not seem to be as powerful as the original and runs out frequently.
