Presentations: A Passion for Gift Wrapping [Roehm, Carolyne] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Presentations: A Passion for Gift Wrapping Review: It's a wrap!!! - I know, I know................the title wasn't funny so don't quit my day job. I won't. But you will have to admit that this is a wonderful reference book for helping with your wrapping skills. I first became aware of Carolyne Roehm when I saw, and purchased, her Notebook on seasons --they are just spectacular so I knew that this book had to be just as great and it certainly is just that. I went through this entire book from start to finish and she covered everything. Then at the end of the book, for your questions, she gives a resource section to hep you find the things that she has used and/or suggested in her chapters. This book is also a seasonal book of gift-wrapping of sorts. The chapters are broken into the seasons as well as: Introduction Spring Summer Autumn Winter Kids How-To's Resources Ms. Roehm is a fashion designer, with her experience coming from Oscar de la Renta no less; that's like training at the Cordon Bleu of fashion. So you know that she has to have a sense of style and creativity that will serve her well, and she does not disappoint. As an example, on page 135, she gives a gorgeous vision of Christmas wrapping using fresh eucalyptus, acorns, and walnuts with a deep rich dark brown satin ribbon and bow against a brown and cream colored paper. If this had just been explained to me without the influence of the sharp and clear colorful photography that accompanies her instructions, I would not have been truly convinced. And that is another reason why she is so good at what she does; she brings to life the idea's and style through the use of great photography. It seems that she has gotten across that the secret to a beautiful presentation of any gift is the right embellishments, regardless of the paper used. The ribbons, bows, berries, accents are what draws the eyes to the beauty of the gift. You will be inspired to go beyond what you thought was possible and make it greater. Review: Well, worth the money spent - This book is beautifully done and is a wonderful gift for those who love to wrap presents

Masterpiece Theatre of Gift Wrap
If you want to see some gorgeous pictures of some beautifully wrapped presents - not to mention the unbelieveable settings for these presents - this is the book for you. The pictures have to be seen to be believed. I had this book out at a party - and several who saw it fell in love and ordered it the next day from Amazon. Carolyne has a wonderful sensibility of what is unique and exquisite. This is not the book for you if you want instruction on using double-sided tape and how to fold the perfect edge. This IS the book for you if you want to be inspired.

If you buy 1 wrapping book... this is NOT it, but great part of collection
As others have said, this shows beautiful packages but gives no instructions on how to execute them. I use it, as Carolyne suggests, as inspiration for "the look" I want. I use my other books for my how to, as my how to books can be lacking in the beauty I go for in wrapping. She does use fresh flowers in her wrapping in this book far more that I feel is practical (I have done it once though - even before seeing Carolyne do it here). I try to look past the fact that it is a fresh flower and look at the colors she uses and substitute silk flowers or ribbons even if I don't plan to use the fresh flowers as she has.

Timeless Ideas from an Inspiring Author
This book was flawless to me as I have not only been a long time fan of the author (but didn't know she had written a book on presentations) but also, the presentation ideas in it are timeless as I expand my company to offer corporate Gifting! And I also love that in her signature style, she sectioned the book based on seasons. It's her signature style and it makes the book flow in a very organized way.

If you are addicted to gift wrapping
This book is beautiful with all of the best combinations in gift wrapping you could ever aspire to. I was pleasantly surprised by the book as I have started curating a taste-maker library in my home. This book is all I need in this category, as it is exactly what someone who loves beautiful gifts could ever imagine.

Beautiful but short on instruction.
This is a beautiful book but you could get similar pictures from Pinterest. The actual instructions are very superficial, and cover only the wrapping of straight-sided boxes and no other shapes (such as bottles, round boxes, odd-shaped objects, etc.). There is a place for this book in the collection of a passionate paper crafter but itโs not suitable for beginners.

A classic reference
The photographs in this book provide imaginative ideas for gift wrapping and giving that I will go back to again and again. The quality of the book, the personal notes, list of resources for materials, brief easy how-tos, suggestions for materials, and creating computer-generated wrapping paper, are all appealing facets of this gorgeous book. All the wrappings are so classy; by following their lead, I know my gift presentations are going to go to a new level of creativity and professionalism.

Zu wenig Beschreibungen und Text. Fast nur Fotos.

My favourite book ever, across all classes of books. It's beautiful, inspirational. I've purchased several second hand copies to give as gifts, but I'd buy new and pay more if it was still in print.

Beautiful inspirational book. Don't buy if you are looking for instructions, definitely buy if you want to be inspired. Lots of lovely photos. A good coffee table type book.

This book looks impressive, but I was very disappointed when it arrived. It is full of pretty picture of wrapped gifts and accessories, but only had 6 - 7 pages of instruction on how to actually wrap a present. And the instruction is for a square box - there are no instruction/ guidance on how to wrap complex shapes. At ยฃ13 I do not think it offers good value for money, other books are available that offer the same advice but cost a quarter of the price
