Can anyone give me an idea how long these filters last?? And do you really need to use these??

Clean frequently with a brush. It all depends what you are vacuuming up re frequency.Every empty I suggest you clean filter.If you don't use the filter, you will cause the motor to fail, quite quickly, due to particulate ingress and motor brush failure.Do not use for vacuuming wet material, this will damage the paper filter and block it.Machine can be used for wet vacuuming with a different (foam) filter.

does this fit the PC2005D model please?

All it says on the cartridge is suitable for PC200 and PC300 models

Can tou get bag filter to fit over this? If it's called a bag?

Hi, There is no bag to go over the cartridge filter. We do a pack of dust collection bags (PC200PB5) and you can use either or when dry vacuuming. Regards,
