THE BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW THAT YOU SHOULD READ IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING
HERE IS ONE OF THE MOST IN DETAIL BRUTALLY HONEST REVIEWS YOU WILL READ. I'm a 16 y/o girl who bought this mattress for my room makeover. The price is totally unbeatable and I thought well, I'll just go for it. Here's my full breakdown and opinion on anything you could worry about for a mattress: THE COMFORT LEVEL: 10/10 I may be 16 years old, but I have bad scoliosis that affects my whole body. So I still get knee pain, all that fun stuff. Before I had opened the box and set up this mattress, I had also gotten into a bad car accident that hurt my lower back even more to the point I couldn't walk. At this point in my life, comfort is my holy grail. As a growing teenager, I needed to count on something that I could also sleep on for 12 hours and wake up feeling like I could take on the world! And this my friends, THIS is it! The comfort is amazing. My back doesn't hurt at all when sleeping on it to this day, even compared to my previous expensive serta mattress. I know a lot of people worry about it sinking over time. I weigh 105lbs but there are absolutely no signs of sinking no matter how long I lay on this bed. Also, it isn't super squishy. The perfect amount of plush with a hint of firm so you aren't sinking to the pits of memory foam. THE SIZE: 10/10 When I cracked this baby open, it immediately popped up. I didn't even wait the full 24 hours before laying on it because it immediately grew to it size! I even measured the corners! HECK YEA! CLEANING IT: 9/10 Don't know what the fake zipper is about on this mattress, but this baby is so easy to clean. MY SISTER POURED CRANBERRY JUICE ALL OVER MY MATTRESS! And as I was cursing her out and shaking my fists to the heavens asking "Why me!", sad that my brand new mattress could potentially be soiled forever, it was all okay after I grabbed some odoban!! I cleaned that sucker to the gods and now there is not a single stain!! Make sure you dab people and HARD! You can even rub it, it'll come out. And then I did what a smart human would do, put a mattress cover on. THINGS THAT BOTHERED ME: 1. I don't know if it is just me but....PREPARE FOR THE SMELL! It doesn't smell like green tea nooooo definitely not sis. This smells exotic. Not my favorite smell it was definitely a strange smell that I can't even identify. BUT THAT SMELT WEIRD! And I'll be honest...it took 3 weeks for me to not smell it. It was such a strong smell that I just made my bed and didn't sleep on it for a while. It made my sheets smell too at one point. Then I got used to the smell and just decided to kick it in my bed because I was tired of sleeping on the couch as soon as the smell died down. But by the next month, I no longer smelt it. I'll list below how I managed to get rid of the smell. BUT! If you are patient like me and are willing to pull through because it is a TOTAL pain in the butt to send a mattress back, then don't fret! It does go away and you will love the mattress after! Its been 3 months that I've had it and I've had multiple people do a smell test, the smell has vanished. I still think the mattress is worth it! HOW TO REMOVE THE SMELL: -Don't use too much febreeze. It'll be a temporary assistant, but honey it isn't worth it to drench the bed in more chemicals making the bed come up with more of a foreign smell. -I put scent soaking rocks in my room. You can buy these at home depot, they take away any weird scents. You can also purchase a air cleansing machine, NOT a dehumidifier. I don't know exactly what these things are called but my boss has one and they work great. You can get these for cheap at walmart. -Air fresheners for the car. A canned air freshener will definitely get rid of the smell but they are very strong. I just got some plain smelling glade air fresheners and put them under my mattress. This made my mattress smell like fresh linen by the second day. -Wait that sucker out! It's not too bad! 2. The heat, at first My mom just looooooooves to keep our house at 69 degrees making me a living ice cube. Therefore, I keep my vents closed. But, this bed will get you pretty hot sometimes. It could just be because of my comforter, but I never sweat and sometimes I will wake up sweating on this bed. This isn't an extremely justifiable complaint because it could be any other factor, but rest assured my vents are open fully because I do not want to smell like sweat! OVERALL.....This is a definite cop, not drop! Go ahead and buy this bed. If you are extremely picky, this bed is great to have in a guest room or maybe if you own airbnb's. They're cheap and comfortable and great as long as it air's out. I love my bed so much to a point that I don't wake up for days now!

Fathery Soft
I love this mattress! It is so comfy and soft. In my personal opinion it could be a little firmer, but it is still really comfy. It is very thick and fits perfects on a twin box spring. It seems sturdy and like it will last for years to come.

Comfort and scent
I purchased a twin- 8 inch mattress and I am absolutely happy with my purchase. The foam is extremely comfortable. There is no awkward or plastic smell that comes from the mattress upon opening. It’s actually smells nice. The support of the mattress is good not too firm and not too squishy. Inflating the mattress was simple and happened quickly. I was still able to sleep on it the same night. I opened it without any problems with it rising fully. Would definitely purchase again. Great value for money

8-inch Zinus First-Night Review: So Far, So Good
I am writing this review on the morning after my first night's sleep on this mattress. I am giving it a 4 out of 5 stars. I will update and/or edit later as appropriate after multiple nights, but I felt it was important to the validity of the review to start out with "first impressions". Let me state at the outset that no person nor any company has offered or given any inducement or incentive for this review, nor asked for it in any way. I read and referenced many reviews when searching for a new mattress, and wanted to give others the same help that the reviews gave me. That said, here goes. The set-up: I am 5-3, weigh about 115, and am disabled. I can walk, but I have various physical issues which put me in chronic pain. I have slept on traditional mattresses, the original Temperpedic, (which I have no idea how to spell, obviously!) and futons. Of those, I normally preferred and defaulted to, fairly high quality futons which combine batting layers and inner coils. I have lower back pain and hip pain. For a while, I have been having intense pain during the night that went away when I slept at hostels in NORCAL which have foam mattresses. I realized that the intensification of my normal daily pain was really detracting from the quality of my life so I knew that I had to switch mattresses. I cannot afford an expensive mattress, so I set my budget and started reading reviews. I read a really good one of the Zinus and could find only review-for-hire reviews of the higher priced memory foam mattresses. The really good review of the Zinus, among many which I read that varied, mentioned that the reviewer had tried more expensive memory foam mattresses which he identified by name. Of course, I don't know the guy, but it seemed genuine so I decided to try it. I waited for one of Amazon's periodic sales. I did pay attention to the manufacturer's comments about how to decide which thickness to get. I went for the 8-inch because it allegedly was firmer. So: Unpacking and opening went well, because I got my neighbors to do it. I'm small and disabled. They didn't follow directions but intuitively deployed the precise method which I later discovered was the recommended one. I opened windows to make sure that if there was any chemical smell, it would dissipate since I have asthma. I couldn't detect any, but I did feel a slight burning in my nose so it was probably there at least on the first day. I let the mattress decompress for about 30 hours, over night and until bedtime (we set it up at about 6:00 p.m. on the day it arrived, and I went to bed on it at about 11:00 p.m. on the next night). I was particularly concerned about soreness in my lower back, neck, and legs which had been causing me problems during the night. This would be over and above my normal chronic pain. I experienced none of that last night. I would normally awaken several times in the night with tenderness in my hips or lower back and have to take steps to relieve pain or pressure. I did not experience that last night. I slept through the night. When I awakened, I had no intense pain in my lower back or hips, just the mild normal ache. My neck was stiff and sore but I have a cheap pillow (my next purchase) so I can't blame the mattress for that. So, first night, good news and the exact result that I sought. A few notes. I might have gone for the six-inch if it is even firmer. I couldn't decide between the six inch and the eight inch but I went with the eight inch. I watched a video review of the 12-inch where the guy reviewing it said "meh". I forget his name. He gave the 12-inch a 2 to 3 out of 5. He complained about it being too soft, but the description on Amazon very clearly said, if you want a firmer mattress, don't get the 12-inch. So I put that on him. I also noticed that the guy had another mattress standing against the wall in the video. I've read about people who review mattresses in exchange for free mattresses and money. One story talked about a person who outfitted an entire household with mattresses by reviewing them. Some of those reviewers get Brand X's mattress in exchange for dissing Brand Y's product. So, I don't know about this guy. One point he did make: It's a fairly inexpensive mattress. I got mine for about $150 on one of Amazon's lure-you-in sales (their algorithms track your searches and show you sales of what you want, don't be fooled, they do for sure). I can't afford a grand for the high dollar memory foam mattresses or even $600, at least not right now. Maybe down the line, but I would have to sleep on one first. If a Zinus at $150 gives you the same night's sleep as the other guy at $1000, it's a no brainer for me. Another note about that guy's video. He said, If you have trouble standing, don't get a Zinus. He said of the 12-inch, it gave no firmness against which to push to stand. That is the exact opposite of what I experienced this morning. I very much do have trouble sitting up in bed in the morning due to my disability. I had particularly noticed of late that I had to basically use the bedside table and the nearby built-in cabinet to hoist myself to a sitting position. That problem was part of why I knew that I had to make some changes. This morning, I sat right straight up and got out of bed, which I have not been able to do in several years. So I take issue with that and again, it is likely because he didn't read the specs and got the 12-inch instead of one of the firmer variants. I also watched a husband and wife set up a Zinus. They were hysterical. I tried to find a review by them, partly because they were funny and partly because they were both larger folks, and they were sleeping together on the Zinus. I wondered if it worked out for them. So, 4 out of 5 stars for the Zinus 8-inch after set-up, decompression, and first night's sleep. I'll update if necessary, that is, if it worsens or substantially improves. I'd give it 3-1/2 stars as a precaution if I could (can you give 1/2 stars here?) just because one-night does not a long-term barometer reading make. If future nights prompt a downgrade, I'll add a post-script. Good luck!

Perfect for my son's first bed!
Our little boy has grown up and finally got his own bed! We were worried about him sleeping alone, but this mattress made it so easy. It is amazing—just as comfortable and high-quality as the one on our own big bed. Our son loves it and sleeps perfectly. Highly recommend!

Good mattress for preteen
Seems comfortable enough. My son prefers his bed to any hotel we have visited so I’d say it’s a good mattress. Once rolled out and let it expand it seems like a good durable foam that will last a long time. It doesn’t make you hot either. Doesn’t weight a ton so it’s pretty easy to move if needed as well.

Goldilocks comfort!
So comfortable! Bought this for a Murphy bed for the guest room. We have had several visitors and all say this is the perfect mix of firm and comfortable.

Well the updated reviews are true...Company SUCKS
Bought an 8" for our spare room because of reviews and price. However, at the same time, we bought a Leesa for our room. After a month we were having so many aches and pains we decided we were going to have to return the Leesa. Before doing this we had to find another mattress so we pulled this mattress off our spare room bed and slept on it for a week....WOW. We slept the best in years. Literally I would lay down and not move all night....that NEVER happens. Needless to say, we ordered the King 12"; after this for our room and we are very happy with it as well. Now, do not get me wrong the Leesa is a great mattress and it is well made and if we were not side sleepers this mattress would be perfect, however, we sleep on our sides and therefore the pressure on our old shoulders and hips were terrible. FYI: In the reviews, you will read that people complained of this bed is too firm, not sure how that is the case, you sink in and get well supported. Others complain of it not expanding....this is not an inflatable raft, you do not pull the ripcord and it flies open. You MUST get it out of the box and on the base within a day, day of delivery the best and you MUST let it sit for 48 hours.....do not sleep on it, we slept in the spare room and on the floor when we ordered the 2nd. It literally grows for 2 days or longer. ****Fast forward 3 years and this mattress is falling apart.**** I purchased the 8 " and the 12" for the price and the warranty. I had read many updated reviews here from people who said the company would not uphold the warranty, but I thought, surely not. Well on 8/18/20 I filed for a warranty claim and was met with an email of a list of pictures and measurements I needed to provide along with the usual proof of purchase, tags, ect. I was kind of concerned that they told me NOT to remove the mattress cover...think I will do that next, I might be surprised. Anyway, I did all the pictures the best I could since it is a KING size, heavy and I am not a bodybuilder. Let me include that this mattress is on a Zinus platform bed that is approved for this mattress, the mattress sits ON TOP of the platform and NOT down in the bed at all. This is the email I received....so the reviews of this company ARE TRUE...they SUCK: Thank you for providing us those information and the explanation of the issue encountered. Unfortunately, after reviewing all the picture you sent us, there was only one really eligible to be reviewed regarding measurements of the side mattress since the other measurements are hidden by the bed frame. The sag also does not have measurement on the picture. And i regret to tell you that for the actual situation with the only measurement eligible in those picture, unfortunately we cannot launch a warranty claim sorry. "This warranty does not cover any deterioration of the foam that results in an indentation of less than 1.5 inches" And, on this only eligible picture, unfortunately the detorioration show less than 1inch, and after already few years of using a mattress, this 1inch can be understandable and sadly not covered by the warranty at the moment If you want to share us more picture of the sag which could be maybe more than 1.5inches of loss, do not hesitate (i will add an example picture of the measurement showing a sag that we normally request in those situation) Thank you for your understanding, and if you have any question, do not hesitate to reply to this email. Have a good day. Cordially Alex Your Zinus Team

Excelente

Wow I was amazed it's thin but works really well, actually better than my spring tall one. This also allows me to leave the cushions in and the duvet because it's thinner than the old one I had. Totally recommended

Great mattress and priced right!
After getting our mattress. We let it expand and slept on it for the first time last night in our camper,,and we are super happy with it. It has a medium to a little more firmness. But very comfortable. Hopefully it will be comfortable and keeps its feel and shape after sleeping on it. All in all. We’re very impressed with the Zinus
