The purpose of the book is not only to introduce the many models and details of the Auto-5 (A-5), but also to give the collector the first and only accurate method in dating a specific Auto-5 (A-5) shotgun. The best book on FN Auto-5s
Fantastically researched and written book that deserves a spot in any good reference library. The book includes all sorts of high quality photography of prototypes to production guns as well as historic photographs. Be aware that this book is, as it says, only about Belgian FN Auto-5s. You will only find a few paragraphs on the Remington 11 and nothing on the Miroku or Savage made versions. With that said, the book goes through the development of the auto-5 all the way through production and meticulously talks about each part and their variations to include magazine caps, compensators, barrel ribs, and more.

Nice with extras
This is THE book on A5s! The seller also included extras, including a nice bookmark. Another pleasant surprise is that it was autographed by the author. I was hesitant at first due to the cost, but once I got it, was very pleased. Like other reviewers mentioned, it has a thorough history of the development and production of the A5. The pictures and quality of the book were top notch.

Wow! Just WOW!
Definitely was not expecting what I received. Not really sure what I expected after spending $99 on a book. However, what I got I was absolutely blown away with! The level of detail into the history and the ins and outs of the Browning Auto 5 platform was incredible. I just started collecting the Belgian made A5's (the real ones lol) and this book is a definite must have if your the least bit interested in the history of such an amazing tool. Oh and the pictures and the quality of the printing is top tier! Definitely a book that has found its new home on my coffee table LOL.

Great book if you own A5’s
Great book filled with pictures and history of the Browning A5. Very detailed breakdown of serial numbers and proof marking. Ordered the 2nd edition but received the expanded 3rd edition autographed by the author and nice note from the author. Love the book!!!

Great book for the money !
Just received the Browning Auto-5 book. Wow ! This is a very high quality and well written book ! More information than I was expecting. It pretty much covers everything you could possibly want to know about an A-5 ! This will be a valuable tool for me to use when purchasing old Browning A-5's. If you're on the fence , go ahead and pull the trigger ! You won't be disappointed !!

What I hoped for and more
The other reviews are right. If you care about this iconic gun, you want this beautiful, meticulous book. The illustrations are extensive and wonderful. The details are precise and entertaining. Did you know they repeated the first 500 serial numbers? The book is clearly a work of love. You might love it, too.
