I hope it stays with me for a long time!
I've had my last backpack, a mostly plain black bag, for well over 10 years at this point. It was starting to wear down and I needed to replace it eventually and I'm happy that I chose this bag to fit the bill. Here's hoping it lasts 10 years as well!Laptop slot:Yep, that will fit a big laptop for sure. I've got a 17.3" Lenovo Y70 and weighing in at 3.4kg I needed a sturdy and comfortable backpack to hold it.Fits my laptop, which is also in a sleeve, without any issues.Size:There are 4 separate compartments to this bag, as well as two smaller, slightly hidden, compartments -- one on the back and one on the right-shoulderstrap side for a phone/media player. Overall, the bag is large enough for school or business, but would not work very well as a carry-all / overnight bag. None of the compartments are particularly large, but because of this the bag is very compact and I appreciate that.In the primary compartment I fit my laptop, a notebook and some paper, my laptop charging brick and cable, a portable charger for the USB connection, a small mechanical keyboard (Pok3r, a 60% keyboard), a mouse, and still have room to toss my coffee mug in there at the end of the day, but not much more.In the secondary compartment there's much less room, but enough for a few notebooks maybe, and there's a little organizer for pens, and other misc items. The third zipper there actually goes to a small pouch that floats in the second compartment -- another misc. junk pocket. The last compartment is the zipper right on the front of the bag, and you can't fit a whole lot in there. I use it as a napkin stash.Comfort:Very. The back breathes well enough -- still gets a little warm but I've yet to meet a backpack that doesn't. The shoulder straps are very comfortable as well -- even with all of the weight I put on them.USB port:This is just a convenient little feature. It doesn't come with a battery so you need to supply your own, but it is nice to be able to leave that in the bag and connect to the outside. The pocket right below it functions well as a place to hold your phone while it chargesMesh side-pocket:Speaking of said pocket, this is a very small pocket. You can fit small water bottles / mugs ( and i mean, like, cup holder small) but that's tight. On the positive, I guess, it is consequently very secure. The pocket is, however, perfect for a collapsible umbrella.Design:Simple, but not boring. Not going to attract a lot of attention, but it does look relatively unique and the pattern is nice.

Better than expected!
With the mixed reviews about size and durability, I was a bit hesitant to order this $50 pack, but the potential 'pros' outweighed the 'cons' so I took the plunge. The. Best. Decision!I'm traveling with a 35L backpack and wheeling along a bike case but I still needed a carry-on that could handle BOTH my and my husband's 17" gaming laptops + accessories and in-flight carry-on knickknacks. It was important that the bag be able to be used in whatever capacity was needed, depending on the luggage situation. This bag ticks all those boxes: hand or arm carry, crossbody, shoulder, and backpack. The fabric is sturdy without being abrasive. The padded laptop sleeve + velcro security strap are great. It has convenient dual mid-grade zippers (not the crap flimsy ones nor the heavy duty) so you can open the bag compartments from either side / partially or completely. The padded shoulder and backpack straps have a generous amount of adjustment to accommodate 'lil 'ol me or my much taller/thicker hubby. The stitching and components are also middle of the road so no complaints (and bonus points for using METAL fasteners and clips for the shoulder strap, and having the connections on opposite sides of the bag to evenly distribute weight). So if you're like me and hesitant about taking a chance on this laptop bag, I say GO FOR IT and be pleasantly surprised (and if not, it's free returns, right?)!

3 Years - Still Great
I usually only write a review if I am prodded into doing so by repeated annoying emails, and even then only if I really like the product. For this briefcase, I searched my orders to find it so I could write one. That is how much I like this briefcase. I bought it October 2019 and have been using it for commuting, car travelling, and airline travel ever since. I like the look, the durability, the laptop protection, the zipper strength, and the ease of cleaning. I have never been so organized. The interior storage system, the placement of pockets and the ease of opening and closing each compartment really makes this case useful. I especially like the multiple options for carrying depending on the situation - shoulder strap, hand handles, and back pack straps. All non-used handles can be stored out of sight which makes for a sharp look. The outer pockets with hidden zippers make going through airport security so simple with ID and phone being readily available yet safely stowed. I have plenty of room to keep my laptop, ipad, phone, charging bank, cords, paperwork, and pretty much everything I need to keep a mobile office inside. I highly recommend this briefcase and might just get another one to store away in case this one ever does wear out.
