This replaced a 15 year old infinity entry level component speaker. V shape sound which can be adjusted by the amp and player. Definitely powerful. Pleased with this.

Awesome speakers you won’t be dissapointed.

I bought those speakers for my car thinking they would be an upgrade from the stock speakers. Oh I was wrong. I installed them and one the first song I tested was Sunrise from Norah Jones. The mids were missing a bit while the mid-highs and highs were a little too much. The bass was nort bad for the size but nothing to scream about. The bad thing about these is that they crackle and has distortion on a lot of songs where the stock ones never did. The sound was unbalanced and distorted at mid volume for the mid-highs and the highs. I was very disapointed so I decided to return them. I bought the Polk audio DB 6502 for the front and the DB 652 for the back. OH MY GOD what a difference. The Polks are in another category. Plenty of bass, the mids are very clear and detailed without being IN YOUR FACE and the highs are crystal clear and airy. Those Pioneers are really low budget. I've had Pioneers before and especially the PEI tweeters and NEVER again!!!

These speakers have a coil from the negative terminal to the voice coil, I'm guessing to prevent the highs from getting thru. The problem is, the glue that's holding this coil down eventually doesn't hold the coil anymore leaving it to vibrate freely. When this happens, the solid wire they used breaks! Then you will no longer have sound wondering why! When you take them out and look at the back, you notice there is nothing connected to the negative voice coil solder pad. You have to carefully strip back some of the plastic wrap they put on it to expose the wire and then on top of that it is an enamel wire so you have to strip back a little so you can solder a replacement wire back onto it. The first time it happens, I just soldered back the wire to the pad and tried to put some double sided tape to hold the coil down. Then I realized BOTH of my speakers were out at the same time and today I finally got the chance to look at it. BOTH of them had that wire broken again. This time I just got some stranded wire and soldered it onto the pads from the coil hoping that's enough slack for it to not happen again. But if you are not technical or electronically savvy, DO NOT purchase these speakers, eventually that coil will come lose and you will loose your speakers and of course by then, the warranty is over!
