Isis Unveiled: Volume I: The "Infallibility" of Modern Science

I began reading that timeless work by one of Theosphy greatest creator, Really Impressive. I originally began with her Biggest enterprise The Secret Doctrine but that Magnus Opus is too complicated to understand if some background of Theosophy or Occultism, Oriental philosophies aren not understood. As her first work of that magnitude was ISIS UNVEILED ten years prior to THE SECRET DOCTRINE, is better to begin with it. Much more simple and helps to get a glimpse on some background of what I exposed some lines above. Although we need to remember and understand that the writer of a book is a reflection of their own times because some of her language or how she express herself shows her Victorian views. Although She was ahead of her own time on so much of the themes compiled and the way She thinks her own historic era is there non the less and although Her understanding of so much themes was something magnificent she was a human being and can err too. Interesting reading to take it slowly as a true study in the research or to learn about the way the Theosophical movement began and its differencies with their modern view nowadays. Best if used with the Theosophical Glossary for some terminology that is needed. But as I go reading is an Extraordinary book.

I have enjoyed this volume so much. From HPB’s intellect to her sarcasm, from her wisdom to her humor, her words have delighted me. She offers the opportunity to open one’s mind to all that we usually hide from in our rigid adherence to a materialistic society. Love this book! I had heard from various comments that some people find HPB hard to read but I found her writing style and content quite easy to read.Also, thanks to Theosophy Trust Books, the publisher of the volumes I purchased, for presenting the material in a clean crisp font for easy reading.

I feel I can get enjoy the information even regardless the small print; I am keeping the book!

The description was wrong and did not match the volume 2 that I ordered at the same time. I had to return it and cancel the order for vol 2.

Trovare una versione decente di questo libro è un’impresa, soprattutto in italiano, a meno che non vogliate spendere una piccola fortuna per acquistarlo direttamente dalla società teosofica (intendiamoci, secondo me vale la spesa visto il lavoro che c’è dietro).Per chi non lo sapesse questo volume è stato pubblicato nel corso del tempo in varie versioni, purtroppo difficili da leggere perché non divise in capitoli, le note non erano ordinate, il formato non facilita la lettura.In questa edizione invece il formato (anche se leggermente grande) è facilmente leggibile, i capitoli sono ben divisi, e le note sono state completamente riorganizzate.Se non avete problemi a leggere in inglese (attenzione però ci sono molti termini tecnici) e non volete spendere tanto, consiglio moltissimo questa edizione.
