Excellent printer with fast, high quality output and very easy setup. Clear LCD controls and reliable performance make this a convenient and cost effective choice. Cheap but very reliable printing. Highly recommended!

Having been frustrated by topping up little-used colour ink cartridges, I decided to forego a colour laser jet and opted for a mono laser printer which apparently is cheaper to run, more reliable and doesn’t suffer from clogged jets. I no longer use a PC and wanted a printer which would allow direct printing from an iPhone and an iPad, using AirPrint. The printer was - eventually, easy to set up. The setup procedure via the recommended app didn’t work for me, but in simply opting for a manual setup via the colour control screen it was very straightforward, after providing my network name and password. Printing from both the iPhone and iPad is fast and simple. Printer appears to be very well made, print quality is excellent. So far, so good, highly recommended.

I did quite a bit of research before deciding on this one. I need a printer because I’m disabled and can’t write with a pen anymore. But I don’t use them all that often, so inkjet printers are useless, as they dry up if you don’t use them constantly. Hence why I needed a laser printer. It’s a mono printer, so only prints in black and white. But that’s great for me as that’s all I need. Just to print letters off. It’s fast and it prints beautifully. Not a single error like you often get with inkjets. It also connects to the Brother Mobile connect app with iOS and android. You don’t even need a PC. You can print straight from your phone over WiFi. I have also connected it to my computer though and it works flawlessly. Another great thing about it is that the ink is great value. You can get compatibles for less than £20 for it from the brother website or via the app. It’s also cheaper on Amazon than a lot of other retailers. All in all, I’m really impressed and glad I did my research.

As our current laser is getting a bit long in the tooth we were looking for a replacement & this one fitted the bill. It was very similar in size (just a bit taller) & should fit in the same space, so it was ordered & came quickly via Royal Mail. Unboxing was very easy & quick, as was loading paper & installing the toner cartridge, until it was sitting on the table ready for setup & this is where one design choice became apparent. The single line display is a bit hard to read, and if you have a long WIFI password for security (we do) the endless key pressing to enter the digits was a pain. (For information you can only go up or down a list which runs numbers > lower case > capitals > special characters, so if your password begins with a capital A you're looking at 36 presses just to begin, and if your password has a variety of characters you can spend a few minutes here. In operation the printer is quite quiet, the loudest part being the initial "whoosh" as the fan is woken, the print itself sounds like a laser :) and the time to first page and job print time is really good. If you want to use pass-through printing you need access to the rear of the machine both to retrieve the job & to set two catches to divert the print. All well & good so far, but then we hit the real problem that led to us returning it. We have quite a complex network & this printer would only connect to one access point - the one furthest away with the worst signal. This led to it frequently dropping off the network, & it would refuse to connect to any nearer access points including the one in the same room it was. I contacted Brother and after listening to the problems & then asking about the network they suggested that our network was not really suitable and perhaps a wired ethernet connection would be better - an option that I had considered but this printer was £20 cheaper than the wired alternative. The Amazon return process was nearly as easy & painless as it gets, the only stumbling block when it asked if I wanted to keep it for a partial refund - but the replacement was already on the way & we don't need another printer :) Short version: Compact, light printer with good speed & print quality, just not sophisticated enough for a complex network environment.

Fue bastante fácil de instalar. La calidad de la conexión WiFi con el portátil era inestable, pese a tenerla colocada a pocos metros del router, pero se solucionó con un cable de impresora genérico USB 2.0. Imprime bien, es rápida y eficiente. Para uso doméstico o en oficina pequeña cumple más que de sobra. Si buscas un modelo manejable que no pase de los 10 kg. de peso, económico y funcional, esta es una opción muy decente.

Fantastic Printer, fast and effective I would definitely buy again

Ein sehr guter Drucker funktioniert sehr gut hat viele verschiedene Funktionen. Man kann damit richtig viel drucken. Man kann für Büro Haushalt etc. benutzen. Ich kann die Marke Brother weiter empfehlen. Die Tinte kommt super voraus und noch dazu was mir am meisten gefällt ist der Handy scannen man kann einfach Dokumente von seinem Handy auf die Drucker herausholen, dann kommen die richtig gut raus. ich empfehle diese Drucker.
