Competes with headphones up to £100
Comfortable, ratchet mechanism a little bit weak. Good level of bass, upper mids are slightly energetic which gives a pleasing airy sound to the soundstage which has good imaging/instrument placement. Highs are just right and the sound is non fatiguing. They don't sound hollow as someone mentioned. I like the look and feel of these and are worth the £19.99 I paid. I think these are better at imaging and more airy than the Brainwavz hm5/Fischer 003 and I enjoy them equally as much as my Philips shl3300. Good value amongst sub £100 headphones!

Reasonable for the price!
For £20 these are reasonable value, they look great, and the top head strap fit perfectly! but I'd have been disappointed if I'd paid much more as the sound distorts or sounds tinny at medium and high volume when used on iPhone, and the ear pads fit is quite poor!

Sound very good, fairly comfortable though can get a little sore after long usage (about 3 hours or so), made from quality materials though constructions is not fantastic, the stitching is a little off and they can creak between the band and the metal bracket holding the cup. However these are minor flaws when you are paying £20 for a set of headphones which sound this good

Sounded good after 100 hours breaking in
Comfy. Sounded good after 100 hours breaking in. Fell apart the week later - flimsy screw that attached the headphone to the over the head arch.

Wow !
I LOVE THESE HEADPHONES !!!!!! everything is amazing they fit so well, everything is really sturdy the only problem I had was the plasticy nuts holding the cups to the frame snapping but these where easily replaced with a small nut an bolt, and I feel as though this is not a thing that would happen to a normal user as I wear headphones around 6 hours a day and this pair have being chucked into bags and backpacks with no noticeable marks or damage, other than explained. the cups are made of a really light high density wood that makes the bass clarity amazing the mids and highs sound just as good. They are very comfortable and the foam bulges on the head strap are surprisingly supporting and overall a very enjoyable experience to be expected as when first released these headphones were £150+ I am considering buying another Pair of two for home, work, and uni/college.

Over Rated...
Following looking at a few reviews, I thought I should get a one. After a few hours of listening it was time to return them for the following reason:Below average construction for the price.Headphones at half the price sound better. The one's sold on Amazon are not the same as the ones sold direct from Rock Jaw.Don't believe the hype.

Very good headphones from a very good company. I can only say they get better after every use, who needs overpriced Beats when you can have these

Disappointed
This review is for the Rock Jaw Acero ATM12-001 headphones that I purchased from Amazon. I will explain why I rated this product two-stars.My understanding is that Rock Jaw is a young company based in England. They specialized in budget in-ear earphones. The Acero is their only full-sized, over-the-ear headphones. There have been some glorious reviews about their earphone products in the audiophile community. I do own a lot of in-ear monitors, or IEM's, but I prefer full-size headphones more. So when I saw that Acero was available on Amazon I thought I would like to give them a try.I always read reviews before my purchase. I read about that there have been some sound tuning issues for the Acero in the early production runs. The manufacturer has made some tweaking trying to resolve the issues. So I intentionally waited a while before I made the purchase hoping that I will receive the revised version of the headphones. But unfortunately the Acero shipped from Amazon was still from the initial batch of production. (This was confirmed by the manufacturer.) However, sound quality was not the only reason that I rated 2-star for this product.High quality headphone products without compromiseThe above statement was advertised on the company's website. In reality I think there have been quite a few compromises with Acero. I know we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. But the first sight I had when I opened the Amazon box was not that impressive. The headphones were packaged in a box made of recycled cardboard. The box was not sealed. Inside the box, the headphones were situated in a half molded plastic holder. The only accessory was the detachable headphone cables that were placed in a small Ziploc sandwich bag. There was also a piece of paper in the box that was supposed to be the owner's manual.Acero's retro style design looked real nice in photos. As a matter of fact that was one of the reasons that it caught my attention in the first place. However when holding the headphones in my hands there was nothing that spells quality. The headband was made of very thin stainless steel and felt very flimsy and wobbly. Underneath the headband there was a thin plastic headliner with very little padding. The ear cups were made of wood and were painted black. The paint job was done like a DIY project. The left ear cup was dusty right out of the box. The biggest problem though was that the headband adjustment mechanism did not have enough frictions to keep the ear cups in place. The ear cups tend to bounce back to the retracted position after the adjustment. The second problem was that the ear cup arms were too short and did not extend long enough to accommodate for people with larger hat size. The bottom of my ears were sitting outside of the pleather ear cushions and my ears started to hurt after about 10 minutes of wear. The detachable cables were real thin. The connectors that go into the ear cups were very small. I am not sure whether they were the 2.5 mm or some kind of custom made connectors. On the other end of the cable was a standard 3.5 mm connector. A 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adaptor was not provided in the package. At this point I already had the feeling of been cheated. So how was the sound?I listened to Acero with some lossless music playing through Schiit Modi DAC (digital to analog converter) and Vali headphone amplifier. The overall sound quality seemed to be somewhat hollow and thin. Bass was present and not boomy. The bass didn't seem to extend very low. Mid ranges sounded a little recessed and distant. Trebles seems to be okay, they were not too sharp. The only thing worth mentioning was that the Acero didn't sound closed in given that they were the closed back headphones. I guess that might have something to do with the small vent holes I found on the ear cups. Other than that there was really nothing that stood out. I have a pair of Somic brand budget headphones that sounded more impressive than the Acero.ConclusionI felt that this was a product that was rushed out of the door. They were negligent in quality control. (Sorry, I am a QA engineer at my work.) There were many quality issues. I was quite surprised that a company that was praised for their IEM's would release a product like this. The whole package was like a pair of headphones that was sold at the flea markets. I heard that Acero is undergoing an overhaul. However based on my first encounter of Rock Jaw's product, I doubt I would have the confidence nor the desire to try their products again. I would suggest readers to avoid this product and to look into headphones manufactured by other companies with good reputations and track records. There are a lot of good quality headphones out there in the sub $100 and sub $200 price range. The Acero is on its way back to Amazon.

Great for under $50
For $34 they are very good. The design is a little eccentric but it's intentional and I see it as a good thing. They have an industrial look which I appreciate. Cushions are very soft and plush and comfortable and the wood cups feel nice to the touch. While the sound DOES have bass, it lacks thump but as the other reviewer said, it gets better after burn in. Again for $34 they're great.
