I bought the pruner for cutting weeping willow blanches that are higher than the hedge trimmer can cut, they hang straight down so they are hard to cut with regular pruners, the pruners work well but they don’t cut any branches thicker than a pencil, the price is a little high for what you get they are light weight feel a little flimsy, I trimmed my tree with no issues but with time I guess I’ll see how well they hold up.

I bought this product in order to harvest the fruit on my longan tree, and a lot of the fruit is pretty high up and also not reachable with a ladder because other obstacles are in the way. I opted for the one that reaches up to ten feet instead of the shorter three to six feet version. It came in a box and not too well packaged, so luckily nothing was damaged, but if the package was not well handled, then the tool would have been knocked around all over the box, and even the cutting edge and the handle were not well protected or well cushioned. But luckily it arrived intact. The only issue was there were zero instructions on there, and initially when I tried to use it, the grasping mechanism wasn't really firing consistently, but luckily this was due to the mechanism that controls how far the pruner extends not really engaging during transport. So once that was engaged, the grasping mechanism worked perfectly. Overall the tool is perfect. I think the handle works way better than the pulling mechanism, and it also has the cut-and-hold feature so that you can cut from high up and then you can grasp it, and the fruit won't fall down. It's probably less relevant if you're just trimming a tree, but for harvesting fruit, the cut-and-hold mechanism is important. Otherwise the fruit's going to fall ten feet to the ground and break. It's nice that the handle can rotate about 180 degrees so you can trim either direction and have it hold the thing that you cut off. There is another official product versus this copycat, and the official product probably costs $30 to $40 more, and I opted for this because I'm only going to use it a few times a year. But it has the same functions in terms of adjusting the angle of the cutting head.

Does exactly what it says! It is very sturdy yet light weight. The clipper is excellent! Very sharp and durable. Worth every penny

On March 2 2024, I posted the following review regarding the GARTOL Pruner that I now want to withdraw and delete: “This products sucks. Delivered to me on Jan. 15th. Used it four times. And on the fourth time it stopped working. Something inside the pruner pole broke. No longer able to cut. PLEASE don’t waste your money. Unfortunately, past the 30-day window to return without a hassle.” And I gave them a rating of one star. I subsequently contacted the product company/manufacturer and explained the problem with the pruner. The company immediately apologized, assured me that customer satisfaction is their top priority, and even though it was past the timeframe to return the product with no questions asked, they sent me a replacement pruner that works perfectly. And if I had any questions or issues in the future, to please let them know. I am confident if I have any future issues with the pruner, or any of the GARTOL products, they will respond to fix it no matter what it takes. They have earned my new rating of five stars. Didn’t last long, I’ve had it about a year and used it maybe 6 times, stored indoors and just doesn’t close the blade? I don’t recommend!
