Decided to try this on my oldest cat because she's down to 8 lbs. She doesn't have any known health issues, however she will be 14 in a couple months and I added two young male cats to my household 3 years ago and she hasn't been the same. She used to be out and about more but the youngest male has become the resident bully and when he sees her, he immediately chases her back under my bed. She also has dental issues. So I think the combined stress, and dental issues have contributed to her weight loss. She's always been a small cat but at her highest weight she was 9.6 lbs. I bought these to see if I can get her to gain a little weight back and stimulate her appetite so that she starts eating her regular food. I'm also going to be transitioning from the adult catfood she normally eats/avoids to a senior food for her and my 7 year old. I decided to take her to a quiet room to try the product, otherwise the boys would bombard me for the treat. She usually freaks out when I put her in any room with me and close the door, but as soon as she smelled this food, she was really curious! She sniffed, tasted, looked around the room for her escape route, walked away...came back, sniffed, licked again... and so on. She was unsettled being in this spare room, but she couldn't avoid this food. She loved it! She's really picky but I put it in a little bowl for her so she knew it was cat food and she ate it up after about 4-5 passes by the bowl. Now, others have said they felt ripped off by the tiny portion, so I want to highlight this point. This is NOT a cat FOOD. this is a high calorie food SUPPLEMENT. Think of it as a vitamin... it's IN ADDITION to what your cat normally eats. It's not intended to be a complete meal, so of course the portion will be small. Could you imagine a meal sized high calorie supplement? She'd gain 50 pounds in the first month. Or maybe that's just me. So yes, it is a tiny portion because it is not a meal. think outside the box! However, it is a great value at 20 packs for $10, especially if it can potentially save your cat's life by helping them regain some muscle and energy which then improves their mood and makes them more likely to eat their regular food. And if you're in a multiple-cat household as I am, it's also a great way to have some quality time with your oldest friend. Hopefully I can update this review in the future and tell you that she's put back on a pound. But as for the taste, it was a massive hit!

I took in a stray 3 years go. Slow but steady progress. He went from eating until he threw up and then eating some more (he was clearly used to food scarcity), to trusting that we will provide for him and eating normal amounts throughout the day. Over the last winter his apatite and grooming declined (we had to get him the lion shave due to matting). Took him to the vet, capped them at $400, they spent $450, and all they found were ear mites. He has decreased apatite, chronic diarrhea, lethargy, and he's just a walking affectionate skeleton. Anyway, he snarfs this stuff down. My only note is I wish they added essential nutrition, because he'll typically just eat this if it's on the plate.

He’s passed on, but before he left this world, I was using this to help maintain his weight and it did a good job. A bit expensive but you do what you do for a family member.

My cat loved these treats, he would often eat them right out of the packet before I could squeeze it into his dish. He seemed to like the taste and I enjoyed knowing that he was getting more nutrition during his older years.

I have purchased countless things on Amazon thoughout the last decade and can't really recall the last time I wrote a review for anything. This I feel is so necessary and could help someone who is undecided. I have a 16 year old female cat who has always been petite (7/8lbs). As she's aging, we could feel her bones, the hair between her eyes and ears thinning, the increase in sleeping hours,etc. My biggest concern was her weight, she really can't afford to be any thinner and my goal was to just maintain whatever she was holding on to. Well, I couldn't be more satisfied with this product! She doesn't feel as boney and perhaps has put on some weight, hair is back and she's undoubtedly more alert. She loves this pouch and in the 3/4 weeks she's been having it, she seeks it out! Buy it, try it, no regrets!

My senior kitty loves this stuff and she's such a picky eater, I actually noticed a difference in her right away!

My cat doesn’t seem to mind these but won’t eat them on their own. If mixed into his food, he doesn’t mind. The color of the product is also a little weird and I’ve had a few sachets that came out with grey or pink product. I wasn’t sure what that was, so I discarded them rather than giving them to my cat. Not sure I’d buy them again, but they don’t upset my cat’s sensitive stomach.
