This stuff is a cat fountain of youth, I swear! My senior cat was very sick last year with a kitty cold and lost a ton of weight when she wouldn't eat (she couldn't smell anything and was very congested). This was one of the things I think that saved her life.She doesn't get them daily, but the improvement in her is unbelievable! Her fur is better, she gained weight back fairly quickly and her muscle tone is like she was years ago. Her energy is through the roof and she has even caught a couple of mice for us, something she wouldn't have done last year for sure.Product texture is a thicker squeezy treat and there isn't that much in a packet but it definitely makes a difference. I think it could be blended with electrolyte solution or broth for a very picky senior cat or anyone in critical care. We did both at various points and she took right to it.

Decided to try this on my oldest cat because she's down to 8 lbs. She doesn't have any known health issues, however she will be 14 in a couple months and I added two young male cats to my household 3 years ago and she hasn't been the same. She used to be out and about more but the youngest male has become the resident bully and when he sees her, he immediately chases her back under my bed. She also has dental issues. So I think the combined stress, and dental issues have contributed to her weight loss. She's always been a small cat but at her highest weight she was 9.6 lbs.I bought these to see if I can get her to gain a little weight back and stimulate her appetite so that she starts eating her regular food. I'm also going to be transitioning from the adult catfood she normally eats/avoids to a senior food for her and my 7 year old. I decided to take her to a quiet room to try the product, otherwise the boys would bombard me for the treat. She usually freaks out when I put her in any room with me and close the door, but as soon as she smelled this food, she was really curious! She sniffed, tasted, looked around the room for her escape route, walked away...came back, sniffed, licked again... and so on. She was unsettled being in this spare room, but she couldn't avoid this food. She loved it! She's really picky but I put it in a little bowl for her so she knew it was cat food and she ate it up after about 4-5 passes by the bowl.Now, others have said they felt ripped off by the tiny portion, so I want to highlight this point. This is NOT a cat FOOD. this is a high calorie food SUPPLEMENT. Think of it as a vitamin... it's IN ADDITION to what your cat normally eats. It's not intended to be a complete meal, so of course the portion will be small. Could you imagine a meal sized high calorie supplement? She'd gain 50 pounds in the first month. Or maybe that's just me.So yes, it is a tiny portion because it is not a meal. think outside the box! However, it is a great value at 20 packs for $10, especially if it can potentially save your cat's life by helping them regain some muscle and energy which then improves their mood and makes them more likely to eat their regular food. And if you're in a multiple-cat household as I am, it's also a great way to have some quality time with your oldest friend.Hopefully I can update this review in the future and tell you that she's put back on a pound. But as for the taste, it was a massive hit!

My older cat will only eat this and I've tried all sorts of other wet foods. This is the ONE he'll eat. Try it!

My senior cat has become picky about her food at age 14. She prefers smooth textures like broths and gravies. As she ages, I worry about her getting enough nutrients. Luckily, she seems to like these packets. I just squirt one in a bowl and she laps it up. It is thicker than some of the other brands that I’ve used. The consistency reminds me a bit of peanut butter or tomato paste. I did expect the packets to be a little larger for the cost. Regardless, I will give my princess whatever she will eat at this point so I will continue to supply them to her as long as she likes them!

This product should be rebranded as "Lazerus Paste" because it brought our prickly Siamese back to us. Lately, she has been a sweet old girl . . . and even started coming to sit on our lap! Now- she is back to her old self- knocking over the Christmas tree, walking on the piano at 5am, and hissing at the grandkids. It is like the light of Satan has returned to her. We are so happy she is back to herself.Though she is losing teeth, this goo has helped her put on weight. It is easier to sneak in some CatLax too now that she can't groom herself well.This is gross stuff- but SHE DOESN'T VOMIT after eating . . . AND SHE LOVES TO VOMIT on our personal things.Costly? sure. BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY because it works on finicky, mean, scrabby, old-timers who otherwise would be unhappy. We have a subscription now, and would continue to pay a kings ransom for this miracle substance.My adult children come home and marvel that the source of their childhood trauma is still on the mortal coil, and it is all due to this goop.

So I bought this for my elderly cat who will not eat it. The younger cat likes it, but they're not a senior, my vet said it was fine for him to eat though so they won't go to waste. The only reason I'm giving it three stars because I understand that some cats are picky and won't eat anything. The reason is that this just straight up smells disgustingly beyond any disgusting wet cat food that I have ever encountered. The packaging is good, but I personally am happy that my cat didn't like it based upon the smell.

Both my senior cats love this topper (although I give it to them as just a treat). They have both lost significant weight over the past year or two and I wanted to try to remedy that. This has definitely helped. It's on the light side, but that's fine for my purposes. And it's a little expensive for what it is, but if it helps my cats keep their weight up, it's worth it to me. Of all the products in this line, this is the one my cats like the most.
