So far, these are great hinges. Had to replace new hinges from the builder after only 18 months due to rust and corrosion. These hinges fit perfectly and have not shown any wear at all. The value was very good as well. I would recommend.

Penrod is my go to hinge. I have had good luck with this brand because of its ridigness. Some of the other hinges on the market are from what seems a lower quality cold roll steel. Doors from some of the cheaper brands do move from the tension and compression of the door weight. These hinges do seem to hold their form better and the knuckles are sturdier in keeping their alignment.

I ordered these Stainless Steel Security hinges because the ones that came with my door are corroded, rusty and unsightly. Although not a direct replacement,(hole alignment) they did fit the cutouts. On the Con side the screws provided are short 3/4 inch in length. As this is an external door I prefer to use 1 3/4 inch screws easily obtained at ACE or True Value. Installed they certainly add to the overall appearance of the door. I recommend these hinges.

Paired the installation of these hinges with stainless steel #8 head size #2 phillips head screws with 12-24 thread. Carefully chased the existing holes on the door with a 12-24 tap attached to a drill. Fit like a charm. Note: when I was sizing up the ideal head size screw for these hinges, #10 are just a tad too big, but #8 fit perfectly flush with the surface of the hinges.

I bought an exterior door about 10 years ago with what should have been 'exterior' hinges. They were not. These new hinges fit perfectly without any adjustments. The rounded, squared corners and screw pattern was an exact match. The provided stainless steel screws were the perfect size. I am sure the new hinges will last a lifetime and are the proper stainless steel hinges that should have come with the door.

The hinges are nice and sturdy and well made. I had older hinges that were the same brand and the holes did not line up. So installing the new hinges took a lot more time.
