SX Siroflex Mortar Repair Cement Buff, 300ml

This is easy to use and saves time trying to get right mixture doing it yourself. Drawback we had to use rechargeable gun as thick. Biggest issue is it doesn’t cover much area. I was doing between my slabs and one tube only did two and a half so beware how much you need.

Good product for little maintenance jobs struggled to get it out of tube though

This stuff was excellent. Pretty easy to use and seemed to adhere well. Only time will tell so I’ll submit another review update in about 6 months. It was a good colour match for grey mortar and seems to have dried pretty quickly. The nozzle was wide enough for the mortar and all in all it looks decent for a novice. Pretty cheap for this sort of repair. Make sure you soak the tube in warm water before using as this really helps with easing the application. All in all it’s great!

I'm a competent DIYer but building work is something I rarely do. When it comes to brickwork I do it so infrequently that I have never got good at it. Reeccently I had need to replace an old rotten single pane wooden window with a new uPVC one. It was a struggle but looked OK but my attempt at mixing my own mortar and repairing the brickwork was a failure. The next day a small child could with only a sneezs have undone what I had done. So I bought some of this stuff - easy to use just like any other gunk you might have in your cartridge gun. Various colours available and it did the job of sizing the brickwork around the new window and beneath the cill in no time. The brickwork is still solid. I was fairly sure the stuff wouldn't keep so I used the little bit that was left fixing the back step. It's not cheap stuff but if you have had a bit of bother and need it to work this stuff is perfect to bridge the gap between skill and need.

Good stuff

Product is very dry, but has patches of more runny mortar, virtually impossible to apply, need both hands on the trigger and a very strong gun to apply or it will break, but then floods out for a few seconds. Colour isn't buff, its more like magnolia, very light.

Found it difficult to use. As either a small stone/object or some of the cement formed into a small lump inside the tube, so when I squeezed the trigger on the gun it led to the tube splitting and most of the contents coming out of the back of it instead of through the nozzle. Scrapped out as much of the cement as possible and tried to use it, but it had almost set by the time I had messed about so I would say that a large part of the cement ended up it a rubble sack. The small amount I did use seems to be ok. Jury is out on this one for me anyway.

Used this for a quick, inexpensive way to patch a crack in some rendering. It's survived the frost and rain, looks as good as it did when first applied
