I had got the £20 GGIE chessboard on desertcart before this, which was a massive let down in almost every way. So I did loads of research to find a better board at a reasonable price and found this, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. Both the chessboard and pieces are absolutely beautiful. I got the weighted pieces (I find magnetic ones feel a bit cheap and childish.) They weighed more than I was expecting, and provide that satisfying "thud" when you place them on the board. The felt is thick too, not a piece of paper like on most pieces this price. This comes with the newer style pieces, which look when more elegant than the ones in older review photos on here. The gap in the board is honestly almost invisible, and more importantly, I can smoothly glide pieces over it. It came with notation stickers which I was hoping for, but now I'm undecided whether to use them as the board looks so beautiful as it is. I'd like to thank A&A for creating a perfect product at such an amazing price. And for you, the reader, your search for the best folding board ends here. Review: BUY one before they put the price up, this is first class chess set - This is a high quality chess set to please players of all levels. It arrived in a sturdy carboard box, not a single mark or dent. Inside this box was a 2nd box and within this a cardboard slleve. Inside this was the Chess set in the display box customers see on shop shelf. Within this the chess set was wrapped in a felt wrapper. I knew just from the way it was packaged it was going to be a quality chess set. Onmce I removed the chess set from the sleeve i was met with a beautiful smooth set. Maple and Walnut inlay! Each playing piece was well carved. Ea.sy to distinguis each piece. 2 Queens so an extra Queen of each colour. My first thought was this must be the wrong item and I have been sent a chess set worth 3 times than the one I bought. Quite honestly I do nkot know how they can make it at such a low price. Attention to detail is first class. The set comes with each piece having its own moulded home inside the box and comes with a checquers set. I am blown away by the quality. MY Wife and I are keen to start playing chess again. I can fin no negatives, if you want a Chess set as a beginner or an experienced player this is a great choice. Worth every penny. ## Features - Warning:Not suitable for children under 36 months - Warning:Strangulation hazard. - Warning:To be used under the direct supervision of an adult - PATENTED DESIGN: The chine of a traditional folding board always inevitably bulges, which creates a huge gap on the board centre. I am little bit afraid of longevity of bottom of the pieces but it should be repairable if it will eventually happen. Not heavy, not too big, not too small. I am satisfied. The only problem I found is that on some surfaces as kitchen table the chess board is way too easy to slide due to wooden bottom of the chess board. If that would improve and some extra bottoms for chess pieces would be added for pieces longevity it would be probably one of the best chess sets for the money on amazon. ## Frequently Bought Together - A&A 15 inch Wooden Folding Chess & Checkers Set for Adults / 3 inch King Height Staunton Weighted Chess Pieces / 2 Extra Queens / 2 in 1 Chess Board Game… - Jenga Game | The Original Wood Block Game with Genuine Hardwood Blocks | Stacking Tower Game | Ages 6+ | 1 or More Players | Party Games for Kids | Family Games - Hasbro Gaming Connect 4 Classic Grid,4 in a Row Game,Strategy Board Games for Kids,2 Player .for Family and Kids,Ages 6 and Up --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/583193676-a-and-a-15-magnetic-wooden-chess-and-checkers-set](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/583193676-a-and-a-15-magnetic-wooden-chess-and-checkers-set) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-29*
