## Description

The radio weather station 4Cast LX with its integrated METEOTIME system marks a new generation in home weather forecasting. The station receives meteorological information for the current day and the next three for 272 cities in 90 European regions via the wireless networks DCF (Germany) and HGB (Switzerland), which also transmits time signals. The information comes from the well-known Swiss meteorological service METEOTEST and is updated twice daily. The weather forecast and day and night temperatures are transmitted for the chosen region. Current day or night wind speed and precipitation probability are also given. The 4Cast LX also receives storm and bad weather warnings. The outdoor transmitter supplied also provides local outdoor temperature and relative humidity. The modern square housing and laterally arranged controls offer a maximum of control with discrete design. The 4Cast LX can be used as wall or table unit and its exclusive design is an eyecatcher in any home. Review: Excellent - Brilliant idea, it uses the radio waves from Germany for the clock, which I have used before, on another item. This one also give a 4 day weather data as well. It does take 24 hours for it to set itself up. But after that does seem to give an accurate forecast. It does have its own sensor that can be used inside or out, and gives temp and humidity. This shows on the base item. It does not need the internet..and both items came with the batteries included how often can you say that??
Review: Pity about the weather data. - The hardware is good. I checked the indoor and outdoor temperature sensors indoors together before installing the outdoor sensor, there was only 0.2 degrees C difference. I am happy with that, however the data from Meteotime is not great , in particular, wind speed. I have had this weather station for about a month and in that time the unit displays either 30km/hr when the wind speed locally is a very light breeze or 52km/hr if there is a breeze blowing. I checked Paris and Berlin on the weather station these two cities showed wind speeds of 10km/hr, which according to BBC weather seemed to be correct. This morning on very close inspection I discovered a small '<' to the left of the wind speed display, which I take is meant to indicate a wind speed 'less than' the figure displayed. I have just checked and the '<' is not displayed on the Paris or Berlin wind speeds. No mention of the 'less than' symbol, if that is what it is is mentioned in the instructions. For those like me who understand mph I have converted km/h into mph; 10km/k = 6 mph a light breeze, 30 km/h = 18.6 mph and 52 km/h = 32.3 mph.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pity about the weather data.
*by P***E on 24 December 2016*

### ⭐⭐⭐ OK but!
*by C***T on 19 February 2016*

While I am generally satisfied with this Weather Station the negatives nearly outweigh the positives. Th main issues for me are that whilst the outdoor sensor can display C or F the base station only displays in celsius. The backlight only remains lit for about 5 seconds and the display is all but unreadable in half light. Nowhere near as good as the Oregon Scientific I previously had.
