Seagate 1TB BarraCuda 2.5" Hard Drive ST1000LM049 (SATA 6Gb/s/128MB/7200 RPM)

If you're after a small form factor mechanical drive for data storage / supplementing an SSD then this is a decent option. 7200rpm and large cache means it performs at least as well as the old WD Black 2.5 750gb it replaced. Not audible from the small desktop but can't speak for laptops. File access times are as good as one can expect of a spinning drive.

Good stuff: Delivered promptly, on time, as described. It's a fast HDD, as I'd expect from a 7200 RPM drive from a top brand such as Seagate. "Not so great stuff" (still in progress -- have sent an Amazon communication to seller): The HDD is now being recognised as a SSD. Bizarre, yes. Not at all sure why. Never in my many years in computing have I come across this prior. Thus far, have communicated via Amazon to the Seller and await their response. Have also spoken to Seagate themselves via their on-line Chat box. They, also, did not understand why this has happened and asked me to download "SeaTools" and use this to scan the new Seagate drive and deliver a status report on the drive. I've completed this and have the files / read-out's and am due to re-connect with Seagate to progress this issue with them via the Case # provided at the end of our first chat. So, still work-in-progress -- no clue whatsoever as to the cause at this at this point in time. So, make your decisions accordingly for the moment. Apart from this odd situation, the drive works perfectly and is fast. Will update as we move ahead with the investigation...

I use these (I have several of them) as replacement internal laptop hard drives and as external backup drives (with a suitable caddy). I've never had problems with them. No problem in recommending them. Manufacturer has a very long history for product quality and reliability.

I did a strait swap with a defunct drive in my Humax to recorder, far cheaper than buying a new recorder.

Drive lasted 2 days. I tried to do a full format but it could not complete. Software I tried on the hdd said it was a bad disk.

I bought this to replace the stock 60GB memory in my PlayStation 3 to increase it to 1TB. It fits great into the machine and works brilliantly. It has definitely improved the console and loads faster.

No fixing screws with the hd !

I installed this HHD into my PS4, it fits great, very fast compared to standard.

O produto chegou em perfeitas condições, muito bem lacrado e embalado e conforme as especificações do anunciante. Vendedor ágil, o produto chegou muito antes do prazo estipulado. O produto funcionou perfeitamente. Indico!

A 7200 RPM drive is always better if it is in your budget. IMPORTANT: I received 5400 RPM (model no ST1000LM048) drive when I ordered 7200 RPM drive (ST1000LM049). Always check the drive model number to make sure you have not been swindled.

STILL TICKING.....

Produkt kam wie beschrieben an leider mit etwas Verspätung(nur etwas) aber ansonsten top Zustand würde die Hdd jederzeit wieder kaufen. Nutze sie aktuell als backup speicher funktioniert jedoch auch gut mit Linux.

Fino ad oggi si è rilevato un buon prodotto. Poco rumoroso e affidale. Necessita di registrazione per i due anni di rescue. Attenzione a non dimenticarvi.
