I purchased this personal alarm because I was needing something loud and effective in case of emergency. You see so much now days on the news that why not take a bit more precaution. This item is exactly the way they described it. Super cute and is loud. However; I don't think is as loud as I was expecting it to be. Somehow I wanted to freak me out and it didn't lol. Also, I set it off accidentally twice so I personally don't like that because it does not have a safety lock which causes accidentally setting it off specially if you have it with your keys or purse. I now just keep it inside my vehicle since I didn't feel the need to return it.Overall, I think this item is cute and I decided to just keep it but if you are needing a personal alarm maybe look at a different product that does not sets off without a little extra force in my opinion.

Sounds an alarm, you have to respond to text before sends for help
When button is pushed, sends alert to your phone, which you have to select option to summon help. Not sure helpful if being attacked....

I have found Bear Gentlemen Alarms to be cute and user friendly for a chid.

Great item for girl friend she lives in country and has chickens. Neibors can hear her alarm if she needs help.
