Momofuku Spicy Soy Ramen Noodles by David Chang, 5 Count (Pack of 1) Air-Dried Vegan Instant Noodles with 11g of Plant Based Protein

I am so excited to know that David Chang has a food line called Momofuku with real and simple ingredients! I have recently become a Naturlite so am always seeking foods that have a shorter and more pure ingredient list. I tried this Spicy Soy Noodle first and love it! it is so easy to make and packs a great flavor! Knowing it is made of good ingredients makes me love it all the more. I added some frozen peas and carrots and chopped up a chicken tender to add some more protein and versatility one time and an egg and scallions another time but loved it just plain. Great wide, wavy noodles with a great texture and bite. Heat was just right but I might get some of his chili crunch to try in the future. I look forward to exploring more of the product line. The original Momofuku spicy noodles are a 5 star product that should continue forever. The noodles are high quality and the soy sauce is unique, which gives the product a great taste. The new packaging, completely ruins the product though - if you are ordering, make sure you order the old packaging. The new packaging has low quality soy sauce, noodles that are lower quality, and the packaging is a mess. Ordering the old noodles are make or break.

This is different than the usual Spicy Soy noodles I get in a 4-pack from Momofuku. This is a 5-pack and is made by A-Sha, another very reputable and high quality noodle company. I don't like the sauce as much in this version, it's not very spicy, more Sesame oil maybe, but it's still very quality and tastes wonderful. The A-Sha noodles are very good, I just prefer the Momofuku noodles personally, so I stick to the 4-pack.

I love ramen and really like this brand! The noodles are air-dried rather than fried, so they have very little fat. I've tried the spicy soy flavor and the tingly chili flavor; both are good. I just wish they weren't so pricey. Many other fried ramen packages cost a quarter of what one of these packages cost.

The noodles have potential. I appreciate that they aren't deep fried like most instant ramen/noodle types. Unfortunately, the flavor is pretty bland, and I don't accept that the reasoning is so people can build up the flavor profile if they want (at consumer cost only). I tried several times with different amounts of the sauce, and all I could feel was my lips tingling and a slippery feeling of the oil. By that example, I would not pay extra for that supposed wonderful crunchy topping. It is empty calories, not filling at all. And a horrible sodium intake. For the cost, and the size of the portions, I am going to say that this would be my last resort for food. Also, there is no indication anywhere on the packaging that it is recyclable or compostable, which should be a requirement nowadays; we are in 2025. I don't really give any cares for the look or design of the package. This is a deal breaker for me. At least with the uber cheap major insta-ramen brands, I'm not wasting my time.
