Product Description In 1963, mainlander Crippled Ho (Donnie Yen) snuck into Hong Kong with little more than his ambitions, and quickly insinuated himself into the local underworld. His savvy and savagery soon earned him the patronage of corrupt cop Lui Lok (Andy Lau)... and as they nurtured a pervasive drug empire over the decade that ensued, a clash for ultimate control became all but inevitable. Fact-inspired crime actioner from director Jing Wong also stars Kent Cheng, Philip Keung, Wilfred Lau. 128 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: Cantonese; Subtitles: English. In Cantonese with English subtitles. Review Chasing the Dragon is nonetheless a solid representative of the gangster film genre --South China Morning Post

I hated watching this film
Two of my favorite Chinese actors but I just did not enjoy this film a bit. I'm not saying it is a bad film, it was just like chewing glass for me. The storyline is good and the action is crazy but as a big fan of Asian films I do have two complaints that killed it for me:1 - The gunplay was mostly stupid. I'm a shooter and this is something I watch closely in a movie. When guys can run around and shoot a 1911 something like 20 times without a reload, and then when it runs dry the slide is not locked back and the hammer is not cocked. Then guys shooting a sawed off pump shotgun like 10 times without a reload, and the shotgun blows big chunks out of the concrete side of a building, that is so stupid. That's not how it works, people. Watch one of the John Wick films, that is realistic gunplay.2 - The action moves so fast that trying to keep up with what the players are saying by reading subtitles is just nearly impossible for me, and reading subtitles is almost second nature to me, been watching Asian martial arts films for nearly 50 years and have a couple hundred in my collection. It just left me in the dark about some things and I kept having to back it up and watch a scene again to see what was just said.None of this may matter to you but it was a deal killer for me.

Two great actors in same film
Based on true story. Donnie Yen as infamous drug kingpin and Andy Lau as a corrupt cop. For me, a keeper.

Good movie and a departure for Donnie Yen's usual martial arts skill. It's downplayed here so don't come looking for great fight scenes but it's still a great story! A good cop and a gangster join forces to get rich. Or is it a bad cop and a good gangster? You decide! This is the story of Crippled Ho! Enjoy!

何十回も観ました
英語と中国語、両方、何十回もリピートしました。想定も美しく申し分ないです。吹替したら誰が演じることになるんだろう。日本公開と吹替版公開が待たれます。
