Best overall stick IMO.
These are my favorite sticks right now. I have always like the "Xtreme" Vic Firth sticks. I like the extra length they have. I played X5A and X5AN for a long time after using the X55B and X55BN and noticing the they were a little too loud for hat I needed. The X5A's are great and I always have some on hand for quieter gigs but the "NEW" X55A are the best balanced stick for size and weight. However I have ordered sticks and when I get them they seem way too light weight and feel hollow. That is the only drawback to ordering sticks online.

X55A are the best you can get!
Love this size drumstick. they have the extra length i love and are thicker then the 5a which i need for durability. i play mixes from rock, punk, pop. so they sticks are great. if your looking for more speed i might stick with the x5a because its not quite as thick but it still has the length. hope this helps! Happy Drumming!

Great Sticks
A member on our worship team suggested these to me. Gotta say his suggestion was right on. They are like a cross between a 5a and a 7a. They are beefier than a 7 so you don't feel like you're going to throw them when playing but they are not super thick that they are too heavy. I play mostly on a Roland kit and they work really well for that. Have not had a chance to play them on an my Pearl acoustic kit. But I would imagine they would work well there too.

Perfect for a mix of rebound and heaviness
I'm often torn between using 5A or 5B because I like being able to hit max volume with ease while still having energy when it comes to interesting patterns and fills. While these sticks favor more on the 5B side with the overall weight, the extended length makes hitting all parts of the drum easily. These are also very durable sticks, so you're not going to need another part soon unless you realistically don't know how to hold sticks. Only downside is as mentioned the weight. Since it does favor the 5B side, you will have to adjust more to wrist motion and allow the fulcrum and rebound do most of the work rather than arm movement, otherwise you're going to tire yourself out quickly.

Perfect size
Between 5A and 5B with a little extra length. That's the magic formula for me. The wood tips chip before the stick is actually worn out. I will admit, that could be a technique problem on my part.

It’s the perfect stick
The are the best stick. I used nothing but Vic firth x55a. I used to use 7a nd Aaron Spears signature stick but it was to light nd short this is the perfect stick. It have length nd the weight i like. It perfect. The Aaron spear stick is similar in length nd weight.

My favorite sticks
I've used these sticks for about 15 years on drum kit. They are the perfect size between a 5B and a 5A. I also love the extra length that you get on the X model.

A essayer

Great drum sticks X55A
I’ve been through so many different brands and stick sizes. Vic Firth just has that brilliant quality I’m looking for at a price between £10-12. Previous I used a 5A extreme stick, slightly longer than a 5A to give more power and lightweight for quick hands. Although after many gigs being slightly heavy on the hi-hat I found they lasted ok but I needed them to last a little longer. Tried the extreme 5B and found them too heavy and big/thick, so went for the in between stick X55A. Perfect, my go to stick. Still lightweight, more durable and great price. You won’t be disappointed.
