Cube of Pure Marseille Soap Lot of 2

It arrived quickly and packaged in plastic inside the biggest box ever. I was expecting it to be in a smaller card soap box as it was on the picture but it didn't really matter. A 400g block of soap is quite big bar to hold, so I have chopped it into 6 smaller chunks which I have stored away to use as and when needed. I have used Olive soap before in the past and was really happy when I found this online as it's identical to one which I had years ago. If your expecting a sweet smelling soap then this is not for you, it's smells as you expect of Olive oil, it lathers well in the palm of your hand after rubbing it back and forth ( a bit longer than normal soap). I then rub it on my body and I don't use a sponge. I have seen an improvment in my skin as it's not as drying as other soaps and during the winter months my skin get's very dry and almost painful. I also have sensitive skin and find fragranced soaps really irritate my skin, around my ears I suffer from eczema which flairs up only certain times of the year. I also have very oily skin on my face and one would assume this would be the worst soap to use but I actually think it helps keep that under control. I bought one for my stepfather as he suffers with his skin too during the winter months but I bought him the 600g version. I will buy this again but I think a 400g bar is going to last a very long time :)

I used this grated in with other things to make my own washing powder. Very high quality soap from from one of the best soap making companies out there and safe to be washed into our environment. It's a large block so will last you a good while. No added perfume, gentle on skin.

Yes it has the distinctive smell, but I've got used to it fairly quickly. Gentle for body, gentle for face, gentle for my child's skin too. We feel very clean after use. We started using this instead for shampoo and the effect is outstanding. My child has very fine and long long hair and they get tangled very very badly all the time. This soap significantly reduced the tangles, and her hair is becoming supple and does not feel dry at all. My hair has been dry for a good couple of years and couldn't brush it through to the tip without tugging and pulling. Now there is no problem brushing, plus the embarrassing smell of scalp (and body) is completely gone after less than a week of use this. I am very happy and I definitely keep buying this soap from now on. Update: I stopped to use this as shampoo everyday but 1-2 times a week since I start feeling the hair is getting bit heavier than I like. Still working like magic.

I have been using Savon de Marseille soap for a few years for health reasons to cut down on toxins I use in my home and on my body, and also not to pollute the environment. It is a French soap with just a few natural ingredients, mainly olive oil, so there are no parabens, sulphates, sls, perfume etc. The natural scent of this soap can be quite strong, I don't mind it, and the smell does diminish with use. They call it a wonder soap as it is pure and gentle, soothing for sensitive skin. I find it very moisturising on my skin. It looks great on display in my bathroom, and it lasts for a very long time. I've bought Marseille soaps on other online soap stores but it was expensive so I thought I'd try these. There was no fuss packaging although one was a little dented in transit but I'm happy with the price and my purchase.

I’m fortunate enough to have visited the Marius Fabre factory/store in France and their products are superb. I absolutely adore olive oil soap. It’s all I use on my body and face - it really is fantastic for the skin. I’m so pleased I can buy it at such a reasonable price on Amazon. The smell won’t be to everyone’s taste but I love it and I would highly recommend this to anyone (make sure it’s the 72% oil one), so natural and high quality. I do also buy Greek oil soaps but this Marius Fabre one is the best!

I’ve used this product previously purchased whilst visiting France and it was great as a daily face wash. However, purchasing this from Amazon, whilst it smells the same, the packaging is very different and it has made my skin which was once naturally oily, to flakey, dry, tight and itchy. I had to stop using it and within 11 days my skin stopped flaking and was somewhat back to my ‘normal’.

I was really excited to try this soap due to the outstanding reviews, no only on Amazon but across the internet. First off, let me say that the shipping was fast and I felt, for the size of the soap, the price was fair. The soap lathers well and rinses beautifully clean without leaving that "stretched skin" feeling of dryness. A definite plus! I use this for my face as well as my body and, for someone who has the most sensitive of skin and has suffered from acne and allergic reactions my entire adult life, it is rare that I am able to find a product that is this multipurpose. Now for why I only gave this soap 3 stars. Unfortunately, I can't get past the smell. Perhaps the bar I received was wrong or had gone off somehow because I don't see others mentioning this smell that often but I just can't deal with it. My husband grew up on a farm and was quick to agree with my observation that this soap smells like a barnyard. Not like animal excrement but the earthy, pungent, aroma of dirt, wet straw, animals. It is not a smell that bothers me when I am on the farm but it is NOT something I want to smell in my shower and certainly not something I want to smell like AFTER I've cleaned myself! As I said, perhaps the soap I got was from a bad batch, but, if this is what the soap usually smells like I will not be ordering it again. A shame seeing as otherwise, this is a lovely soap.

Although this is not the nicest smelling soap, it leaves my skin feeling very soft. I use it on my face and there is non of that 'tightness'. I've given it 4 stars rather than 5 because of it's scent, but perhaps that isn't fair as I knew it was olive soap when I purchased it. I would buy it again. It also seems very long lasting.

Bien entendu il dégage une odeur qui peut déplaire. C'est un produit naturel et il ne contient pas de produits de synthèse, donc pas de parfums testés devant des panels de "consommateurs". Il lave efficacement, ne laisse pas de pellicule "hydratante" (l'huile d'olive empêche l'irritation pendant le lavage mais se rince très vite) qui empêche la flore cutanée de se reconstituer et contient des perturbateurs endocriniens. Par ailleurs un savon de Marseille dure jusqu'à dix fois plus longtemps que les gels douches qui ne sont que des bases lavantes diluées dans de l'eau avec un gélifiant plein de conservateurs, anti bactériens, parfums et autres m.... Les gels douches ont été conçus pour vendre de l'eau. Regardez l'émission de Cash investigation sur ce thème et vous comprendrez à quel point on peut monter la tête des gens pour leur vendre du poison. Vous l'aurez compris, si vous adorez les gels douches et autre liquides vous allez détester ce savon. Si vous surmontez vos a priori vous allez constater au fil du temps que votre peau est lisse, douce, que vous n'avez plus de boutons, et vous finirez même par adorer son parfum un peu piquant. Le savon de Marseille, le vrai, est assez fort. Il est préférable d'éviter la toilette intime (préférer des produits spécifiques) et il vaut mieux le rincer rapidement pour qu'il soit à la fois efficace et non agressif. Il peut remplacer le produit vaisselle et même ménager. Pour empêcher un assèchement trop prononcé (peaux sensibles, nettoyage du cuir...), un peu de crème Nivea et hop...

Hace mucha espuma y lava muy bien, lo que no me gusta es el olor, yo pensé que tendría ese perfume como los jabones de la abuela y resulta que huele a keroseno. Por lo demás muy bien deja las manos suaves y la ropa también, pero el olor no me gustaría.
