Ductigami: The Art of the Tape

Duct tape fixes everything, but can also make new stuff
This was a Christmas present for one of my nephews a couple years ago. I myself used to make things out of duct tape when I was younger but they didn't have a book telling you how to do it so I just winged it. He is very creative and loves making things out of just about anything so I was hopeful. I gave him this with a couple rolls of duct tape and didn't know what he would come up with and just sort of left it there.Fast forward 3 years and for Christmas he gave my an awesome purse that he made from some skull duct tape and rose duct tape. It was complete with a nice shoulder strap and even a zipper to close the bag.

Cool premise, kinda lame projects
I have mixed feelings about this book. I saw it raved about elsewhere and bought it sight unseen, but I wish I'd checked it out first. We are duct tape lovers who do a lot of projects with kids. The projects in this book are not all that inspiring to me. I found them to be pretty basic, unaesthetic and not particularly creative. On the other hand, my 9 year old made the cell phone case and a couple other things the night the book arrived. Then my husband made the baseball hat, which did come out pretty cool. I've found better duct tape wallet plans on the internet. I have no further use for the book, but I think my kids will still refer to it so that counts for something. Graphically, it is well laid out and the instructions are clear enough.

Ductigami
I bought this book for my 14 year old daughter who LOVES to make things out of duct tape and to decorate with it. She was already making wallets from a video she found on the internet but this book gave her a much simpler way to make them. She absolutely loves this book. For those adults who make negative comments about this book not teaching enough crafts, you really have to ask yourself what were you expecting to be able to make out of tape??? It is a fun thing for kids to do and my daughter loves to make things and give them as gifts. She uses her own creativity to modify some of the items in this book. It's great for kids or young adults who are looking for something to do with idle time.

Totally Improper!! Total Shame & wast of time/$
I purchased this book as a slightly serious gag gift for our Pastor who loves Duct Tape & WD-40 & believes that it can fix anything :o) I thought it would be great to put into his Christmas bag, boy was I WRONG!!! I couldn't believe the pictures in this. So glad I looked through this before I wrapped it up, never thought I'd find what I found in it. Yeah I get it art is art but you don't have to put Naked & 1/2 naked people/statues & in the pictures holding or modeling something with Duct Tape I mean come on. It's porn with Duct Tape people!! It just totally ruined the book & my whole plan cause I know it would've made a great gift. It wasn't just 1 page either I counted at least 5 pages or more that needed to go & you can't rip them out because on the opposite side is the final directions for the prior projects. Some of the art work was cute, like the dogs w/ the Duct Tape rain coats but the other pictures ruined it so I'm returning this.

Ductigami: The Art of the Tape
Finding a book on duct tape projects is no easy task. Thank goodness for Amazon.com! There were two books that I could have chosen from. This one was the most straight forward with easy, succinct directions. I purchased this book for my 10 year old grandson to make his duct tape projects from. I highly recommend prior to purchase, you take the time to review the book on-line. You will have no problem matching the book to the individual. Not only was the book appropriate, it was cost effective and arrived in no time. I am always blown away with items purchased from Amazon.....you will be too.

interesting but unimpressive
Book is full of projects to make but does not provide any ideas on how to use duct tape to create new ideas. Thought there were would be insight in the book on how to use duct tape to create ideas on your own.

Artsy, a bit short
This book may not be quite as long as you thought, but it's still good for a man (or woman) who loves duct tape. It elaborates on the theme of art and photoshops each duct tape project in some classic painting, and I personally disapproved of some of those, but if this person likes classic art, it would be a hit.

Amazing!
I found this book originally in my local library. I tried out some of the projects and was really pleased with the results. I then had my students create the wallet in the book. They loved it. Consequently, I am repeating the project and I bought the book. It is well written. The directions for each project are easy to follow and have the added result of creating idea spin offs once a project is completed. Kudos for a fun and amazing book.

Fun and games with Duck tape
We all know that magic of duck tape - it really is one of the most useful things ever invented - after all it got the Apollo 13 astronauts home. I have used it to repair all sorts of things in the past. So the idea of using it to make useful household objects appealed. This is a real fun title for those who appreciate the finer points of this material.
