They seem super durable and stay inflated. The spikes on the tops don’t hurt but are an interesting texture for my kids’ feet. We use them for balancing exercises built into obstacle courses and “the floor is lava” games. The silicone is just grippy enough to stay in place in the floor nicely. They work exactly as intended and are a nice challenge for all ages and sizes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good For Physical Therapy and Bodyweight Excercises *by on Reviewed in the United States March 28, 2017* So I bought these a little while back to use for Physical Therapy exercises with our son, who has a few medical conditions that have come with global developmental delays. Now, given that this came with a fitness brochure, this is a product that is generally targeted towards that market. However, I think it's easily applicable to both areas.For our son, I am using this to increase his balance skills and to get him to recruit more muscles when he's balancing to increase his overall gross motor coordination. The plastic nubs on these are pretty uncomfortable on bare feet, so that is something to consider if you are a therapist who wants to use these for a clinic that has a no shoes allowed policy. My little man stood on them in bare feet, which I actually found stunning because I remember a time when grass on his bare feet would have caused a freak out of near epic proportions. I stood on them and went, holy cow, never again without shoes. So this is something I prefer to use for him with shoes.I did test these out a little for fitness things, but not much. I am primarily a strength trainer, and while I use a schedule where I vary my weight loads, generally I feel like these are best with body weight exercises or at the most very light weights. And my loads are heavier then I think is safe to use these with for my primary workouts. For me, I pay a great deal of attention to the safety and technique of what I do, my approach tends to be rather conservative, because as the mom of a special needs kiddo, I don't have anybody who can take my place if I'm injured, and I can't take care of my gentle giant if I'm injured.From the fitness standpoint, these are going to cause you to recruit some extra muscles by making your working surface unstable. So I did a HIIT workout that incorporated squats with these, and I have tried the side kick abduction exercises. In all of my uses, I haven't seen any quality problems with the product, but I again think from the fitness perspective these are best for body weight or very, very light weights added only. I would also encourage you to move a little bit slower then you normally might to avoid risks of injury until you get used to the challenge to your balance. I also don't think I'd want to have my hands on them without them being upside down, as is shown in the plank drawing, because yah. They are that pokey.
