I didnt have a lot of faith in this because I have tried so many products and salon treatments but they always left me wanting for more. So when i tried this, i actually did it right before sleep, like an after thought. I was immediately pleasantly surprised by its scent. It smelled rich and sweet. I got a kittle worried as i was blow drying. It didnt seem to have any difference from how it feels blowdrying with my other products. Per product instruction, it is activated by flat irons. And immediately as I started ironing, my hair softened. It straightened quick with just 1 glide. My hair is thin so it didnt take long. It was shiny and flowy and my fingers went through it like cutting butter. But It was late and i had to sleep. I thought it was going to go back to being stringy and dry by the next day (coz thats how my hair usually is after sleep). It is the next day AND it feels and looks soft and shiny still. I am so impressed. I will buy again for sure. Ill update this review after 5 days to see if thats as long as it lasts (as it says on the bottle).

I recently cut my 2c coarse frizzy hair eleven inches. My hair now comes up to my shoulders and looks like a triangle bob when curly. Stupid me thought I could iron it every day. Dumb idea. After a month of ironing/blowdrying my hair every other day (with heat protector), my hair lost ALL its shine and barely holds a straightening. I didn't want to spend $300 on a permanent salon straightening, so I looked into many different options. It came down to an at-home keratin straightening with a full kit or this. I decided to try this, as it didn't seem nearly as harsh as the other one; I was scared an at-home permanent straightening could make my hair fall out. This seemed pretty idiot-proof :) ~EXPECTATIONS: Most of the reviews seemed to suggest that this was the miracle in a bottle I was looking for, but I was a little skeptical. It was only sold on Amazon and the Chi website, and I couldn't find reviews anywhere other than Amazon, which was both a little odd to me. No Youtube reviews or beauty blog posts on this product. I expected: 1) Softer silkier hair - due to the keratin 2) Straightening with flat irons and blowdrys that last longer 3) Heavier hair - also due to the keratin :) Keratin builds up on hair and can weigh it down, so I did buy a clarifying shampoo to go with it. ~HOW IT WORKED FOR ME: Holy cow! This was AMAZING. It did everything I expected, and more. I put it in freshly washed, mostly dry hair, even though instructions say to use it on damp hair. I also used a LOT, putting on each section of hair as I blew it, and my hair didn't feel heavy at all. As soon as I blew it, I noticed a massive difference. Firstly, it was baby soft! It was like different hair. Second, it made blowing my hair ten times quicker, and my hair didn't get as puffy as it normally did. I didn't even need to iron it, but I did, mainly because I wanted it to last at least 3 days (to minimize heat use). The only 'bad' thing about this is that it smells a little like soap, but its very faint. To people wondering if this protects hair from heat, it doesn't. It's a treatment, not a heat protectant - I used a heat spray after blowing/before ironing. This works great in humidity, terrible in rain (duh). The longest I've gone without washing it out was 5 days, and I only needed to touch up the ends once, but beware of oily hair *-* I use this now twice a week, and it works amazing. If your hair starts to feel greasy after a few uses, it's normal! Keratin is a great protein for hair, but too much can weigh down hair, especially fine hair, so make sure to incorporate a clarifying shampoo into your routine. ~PRODUCTS I USE: Shampoo - giovanni tea tree triple treat shampoo (clarifies and removes buildup) // Conditioner - aussie miracles moist 3 minute deep conditioner // Heat Protector - tresemme heat tamer spray // Leave-in Conditioner - garnier fructis curl air dry cream

I have very thick, frizz-prone hair, and this product worked wonders for me. I blow dried and flat ironed my hair according to the product directions, and it looked like I had gotten a keratin treatment; my hair was incredibly smooth and soft, and it did a great job of reducing frizz. One star off because the claim of lasting five washes didn't hold true for me (my hair was basically back to normal the next time I washed it), but this is overall a great product for achieving a smooth blowout at home.

After applying this product, iron your hair in small sections & you’ll have smooth hair for several washes. Level up: If you want smooth, pin straight hair for several months, use Keratin Research Smoothing Treatment and only keratin safe shampoo.

Best detangler for curly hair! Only need one pump and hair combs right out and curls look great. Very moisturizing.

It's okay...I think my expectations were too high. The product smells good, got my hair straight (my flat iron will get it straight with or without a product), but felt a little dry and looked dull. Much more steam/smoke came from the flat iron than usual with this product. I'll try it a few more times and update the review if it turns out better next time. If not, I'm going back the the Chi Silk Infusion, which works great for my hair.

The CHI Keratin K-Trix 5 Smoothing Treatment works exactly as promised. It leaves my hair soft, smooth, and noticeably shinier, with a healthy look that lasts for days. It also tames frizz without weighing my hair down or making it greasy. I love that it protects against heat styling while repairing damage at the same time. Good value for the money, it leaves your hair soft and prevents from freeze. For me has been really effective. Just need a small amount.

I was looking for something similar that a hair stylist used that kept my hair silky and smooth for days even after shampooing. This product promised to do this so I ordered it at a price that I would normally not afford myself. This does not create a noticeable change. I'm disappointed however I'm keeping it because the returning it would be more of a hassle

J'utilise ce produit depuis mlus d'un an, j'ai des cheveux qui frisent, j'applique le produit soit sur cheveux humide ou sec avant le brushing. Les cheveux sont beaucoup plus faciles à coiffés, lisses et surtout super doux!! Ils sont protégés. J'adore ce produit et ne sais plus m'en passer. N'hésitez pas si vous chercher ce genre de résultat. 😊
