Purchased several of these silicon non-slip baking mats. They are so versatile. I have them down on my kitchen worktops to prevent my dishes from slipping during cooking/baking and to prevent stains from my many fresh vegs like fresh turmeric which stains everything it touches, and beets. They are also great to be able to put something like a hot pan down on, if need be, as they wont melt. I feel they would be useful for all kinds of situations where you need something that grips but can be washed off, too. They seem to be very durable and wash well. Good size, too. Would like them in orange to disguise my turmeric stains. Fantastic to hold my grater steady when grating cheese! Love them! :-)

Some reviewers stated that they found this not to be non stick. That wasn't my experience. I bake and knead a lot of bread and found this mat to be really good. Maybe it's effectiveness differs with different surfaces. Mine is quartzite.

Brilliant pastry mat, size very good, very happy with this.

I'm not sure why we didn't get something like this years ago to put on our wood worktops. We've been making pastry and bread on them for years and over time they get discoloured and have to be re-oiled. Now we use this mat and its working very well for us. The mat actually feels as if it sticks to the worktop but it doesn't its just not slippery and stays in place despite pounding it when kneading bread. The circle markings are useful when rolling out pastry that has to go into a flan tin for example. I wouldn't use a sharp knife on it to cut pastry or whatever but a normal cutlery knife would be ok. Easy to wipe down after use and it easily rolls or folds up after use for storage. Gets our recommendation
