A complete rip off
This is not an actual book. It is a hastily thrown together, unbelievably sloppily edited and poorly researched mess. There is no new information for anyone even remotely interested in this case. You would learn more with a five minute google search. If I could have I would have given this a zero star rating. It would not have been acceptable as a middle school book report from content and grammar mistakes alone.

Nothing Fresh in this Thin Volume
Nothing really new or special here - a simple, single paragraph summing up most of the Family members, their crimes, and the victims. Not to mention it's only about 90 pages of reprints of the same old photographs, some juxtaposed with "present day" shots of the infamous sites and folks involved. Not really worth much other than a primer for the young'uns who haven't learned anything other than seeing Charlie's face plastered across the t-shirted chests of today's "Rock Stars" - you'd be much better off with Adam Parfrey's delightful "The Manson File: Charles Manson as revealed in letters, photos, stories, songs, art, testimony and documents" or "The Manson File" by Nikolas Schreck (which I understand is in the process of being updated!).

It was however a good read and very interesting
It was interesting to read a book about what happened from the perspective of Manson himself. Whether or not he was being truthful though is questionable, there has been so much written about the events from so many people that it is really difficult to know what to believe. He may have his own reasons as to speaking the truth or not. It was however a good read and very interesting.

Kind of a disappointment
I chose this rating because I thought the author would go more into the individual Family members and where they are today. I think everyone pretty well knows that other than Steve Grogan, that Watson, Davis, Krenwinkel, Van Houten, Manson and Beausoliel are still in prison. I was more interested in finding where Ouish, and many of the other members are today. But I will read the book and hope that is any one else tackles the subject they will do a better job. Certainly those who have changed their lives want it not known what their past was but they chose to follow Manson and I for one would like to know what they are doing today.

Disappointing
This book is well written. I wanted to know more about what became of the people in Manson's family. Everything in this book can be found on the net.

Derivative
This book has no original research and brings little or nothing to the subject matter. More of a précis of other literature. The compiler should be ashamed for including the explicit photographs of the bodies.

A very flimsy book (in fact my husband asked me what magazine I was reading), very sparse information compared to other books available on Manson. Will not take at all long to read........ I would not have bought it from a bookshop having seen it first.

a printed version of what you can find on any dedicated site
the title says it all. quite interesting, though I would have done a better job if I were the editor/author, starting from the layout up to the contents.
