Hi, the blower is underneath and needs to be quite a long way from the floor, 12 inches or more is preferable. It will heat anything underneath, carpet is probably dangerous and wooden floor gets quite hot if it's too close to the floor.

There is no wall bracket required, the back of the fireplace has mounting points

Faulty Electric Wall Fire.

My daughter purchased this model of fire and it looks good, so I purchased the same model for my granddaughter BUT both models developed the same fault. The problem is after switching on the fire to give the nice flame effect after about 1/2 an hour it started to give a knocking/scrapping noise which became louder and louder the longer the fire was on and they had to switch off the fire. Is this a common fault on this model? Could this be a batch of faulty motors that drives the flame mechanism? (hope not) as I've asked for a replacement.

Great fire and good that it can be on a stand rather than mounted on the wall. Bought for elderly person who absolutely loves it.
