The plate came with the mounting hardware so I had everything needed to drill and install in about 30 minutes. There were marks or at least the mold this was formed from left dimples as to where to drill. No instructions so it was no different than building a chair from the Swedish store. Love the look... holds 2 half helmets, rain gear, some beer koozies, gloves and a bottle opener with some room to spare. The main latch has slight orange peel in the paint... I may wet sand and buff later. Also the latch seems easy to open. With vibration I will more than likely use the lock to keep it secure during travel. Other hinges look just fine.
