Plugged it into 220, set parameters, worked great!
First, this is the smallest 200 amp stick welder I have seen. It is about 1/2 the size of the stick welder I bought on Amazon a year ago and am very happy with. Second, I am a hobby welder with a farm. Don't weld every day or every week but on a farm there's always repairs to be made to equipment and it just isn't cost or time efficient to call a professional welder every time I need something welded.I have 2 shops at the farm, a couple of miles apart. I was thinking how handy it would be to have a second stick welder at my remote shop. Save me a lot of time and fuel having to move a big piece of equipment from one field to the other.I saw this Sunstac 200A welder for sale at a great price and it seems to be of the same lineage as the welder I bought last year. I plugged it in, set the parameters. stick, 5/32, VRD OFF, Hot Start 5, Arc Force 5. I had a piece of 1/4 inch plate with surface rust I hit with wire brush. The synergic function of the machine set the amps at 174. I put an old stick of 5/32, 6013 in the stinger and lowered my mask. I struck an arc the second tick on the plate and proceeded to lay down the entire rod without issue. I pulled out and pushed right in close to the plate to test arc force and it kept going through the entire rod. I paused a minute to let the machine cool a bit and put another stick of 6013 in and repeated my test starting it on first tick and laying down a fat bead with no issues. After the welds cooled I knocked off the slag. Is a 6013 weld on a lightly rusted piece of metal going to be pretty? No, but the penetration is good and that's how welding goes on the farm sometimes and if it will do this with old 6013 you know 7018 on a clean metal is going to be easy. Will it last for years? Whom knows, but if you need to get a piece of equipment back in the field so you can get your seed in or your hay baled before it rains you don't care. It's a cute little bugger with HOT 200 amp stinger! Just buy it!

Hard to believe how small this is
The good.. small and light and will do 3/32 rod. It's also crazy cheap. It's really a capable 100A welder. You can do a lot with it. Bad... It's not a 1/8" rod machine, and the rod clamp is pretty bad. The welding cables are something like 8 gage or something else ridiculously small, so I'm going to make some adapters to do a regular welding cable.

stable electric arc
I have already worked with this device. Fast delivery. Low price and excellent quality. It is possible to supplement the functionality. I intend to purchase a TIG torch. In this case, you should pay attention to the diameter of the tip, which is suitable for the TIG torch. Tips of the required diameter can be purchased separately.

I'm honestly surprised!
I'm a full time welder and run my own welding and fabrication business. I generally run AC stick welder and a Mig. I got this because I needed a DC stick welder on a budget. I have been searching on here for quite a while now but was honestly weary about the cheap ones after multiple bad reviews. I came across this one and it only had 1 single star review and the rest good. I decided to pull the trigger on it. I received it today and immediately unboxed and plugged into my 220. I have some 7018 1/8" rods I decided to start with and it ran them smooth as butter! Great penetration and all! I ran some 3/32 as well and those ran just as well. I even did a few shut off and ons to be sure the machine will come back on. It does set the amperage a little too high for 1/8" rod selection at like 137amps...1/8" runs fine at 115amp so you'll have to make sure you set the amperage right. All in all, I highly recommend.

For a beginner?
This unit was marketed as a beginner unit, and while the unit seems solid enough, it came with no owners manual, supplies or any no real operating instructions. All they included was a pamphlet that reads as if Babble.com was used to translate the original langauge they were written in...so not only are they hard to read, but they impart very little real information. This is why I gave 1 star for "ease of use" and "for beginners".
