Review: Incredible Display Quality makes up for its Limitations - I have given this 5 Stars despite it being rather limited in usefulness, and that's because that screen really pops and is the best I have seen even compared to devices 5x the price. I have long been looking for a device I can put on and get the experience of sitting in front of a huge screen when watching movies, I have bought many devices that promise that experience and this comes by far the closes. Let me be clear though, this is neither a VR nor an AR device in my opinion, it's simply a screen that you wear, which is exactly what I wanted. I started this journey in 2006 with a device that claimed to offer a cinema experience, It was horrific. Then the Oculus Go appeared and together with a cinema app it was very usable despite the screen being a very low contrast and low resolution, but it was comfortable enough and the screen quality was only really noticeable when comparing with real TV or monitor screens. Next came the Oculus Quest which I bought for the same reason, the screen was better but you needed 2 controllers and it was heavy and uncomfortable. Then the Quest 2 was a step backwards for movie watching compared to the Quest. Last year I bought the Quest Pro and I just found it too uncomfortable for a whole movie and also I had to keep moving to to keep the screen in focus. So I had given up almost, and was/am excited about the Apple Vision Pro which is not even available for sale yet. I saw reviews of the Air and the Air2 but they all seemed to be sponsored reviews and nobody seemed to be focused on watching movies, but then was on sale via desertcart FBA which means a seamless and simple returns procedure which even though a never return anything, it does give me confidence to tale a leap of faith, knowing I can return it for a full refund. The first thing I noticed was the absolute amazing quality of the image, forget the specs and the resolution and the other paper specifications and understand that this image quality is staggering, its also crisp and focused for me. I did have to completely remove the nose pieces (3 are provided in different sizes) and use the glasses with no nose piece at all and it's perfect for me. Just plugging Into my iPad which has USB C port is magical. I have a MacBook and tried the 3 screen option, it's hopeless for real work and I think it's just a gimmick, I can't see anyone using it in preference to the built in Mac screen, but I can see it was potential as a future technology. For me just the Air glasses and my iPad is perfect for watching media of all types. I bought the beam and though its got some cute features I really noticed the degraded picture quality in streaming desertcart Prime or Netflix, so for me it does not add much benefit, but the real story really is how amazing these Nreal glasses are with just a tablet or phone that already supports video & power over USB C. I will keep the beam as it's compact and is just basically an Android device so the software issues may be overcome with updates.. So my overall review is 5 Stars because what these glasses do well is incredible, IF like me you just want to watch media.
Review: Pretty good but not perfect - Bought these to mainly watch youtube whilst lying down in bed and im pleasantly surprised at how good the image and sound quality are. They arnt really ar glasses without the expensive beam addon as out of the box you just get a large screen superimposed on the background to various degrees depending on brightness settings and whether you fit the blackout cover. The beam addon that gives you proper anchored displays is way too expensive so I won't be getting one any time soon. I tried hooking these up to my phone and tablet but both did nothing, only higher end devices support video over usb and mine unfortunately didn't. Undeterred I hooked them up to my chromebook and they worked immediately. PROS: Very good image quality for the most part. Excellent audio although they are open ear so others can hear what you are listening to. Comfy enough for prolonged use after a bit of fiddling with the nose clips and arms. CONS: No documentation that tells you how to use them is included and the qr code goes nowhere helpful. You will need to do a few Google searches to suss out how to use them properly. No ipd adjustment which in my case resulted in the very bottom left of the image being blurry. Not a deal breaker for watching media as its barely noticeable but not ideal for a windows desktop or app that displays info there. I havnt used the 3d function so cant comment on that. So in conclusion, these are pretty good for having a big screen in front of your eyes to watch youtube etc but be aware that they arnt really ar glasses without proper 6dof without that addon. EDIT: i have been using these for a few weeks now and can better review them. The screen corner blurriness was fixed by bending the nose clips a bit which positioned the screens perfectly for my eyes and resulted in a nice sharp edge to edge image. There is sometimes a blueish tinged line to the very edge of the screen when the display has mostly white content, not sure why but it's barely noticeable anyway. I tried out the 3d function with some sbs youtube videos and was very impressed by the clarity of the 3d image but less impressed by the fact it combines the 2 sbs images into a square in the middle of the display rather than stretching it to fill the entire screen. I'm guessing it's just something to do with the videos resolution and how the glasses combine the images but it would be great to have an option to stretch out the screen. I'm very happy with these glasses, been using them a lot sitting in the garden where they work great with a solid clear image wheras the screen on the laptop it's connected too is unusable due to the suns brightness.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredible Display Quality makes up for its Limitations

I have given this 5 Stars despite it being rather limited in usefulness, and that's because that screen really pops and is the best I have seen even compared to devices 5x the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ WOW! An Ally for the ROG Ally!

Theese are superb. The brightness of the OLED, colours and. Contrast, sharpness is something else. I did buy the XREAL Beam and I feel it's a necessary add on.. .I feel.for.the price though it should have been included as you need it to "pin" the image in place rather than follow where your looking. It's fine without but for gaming it's a much better experience having it pinned so you can look around easier. Very happy with them though. It's plug and play with my rog ally. And also was plug and play with my mum's laptop that has usb-C. It currently doesn't support Google pixel phones. But works withy iPad. With them being OLED. They use far far less battery than the ROG Ally's LED screen so it last longer. There is no battery inside the glasses that are powered by the device it's attached to. Or the beam if you get that. If you get the beam, the ROG ally will last even longer as it's not powering any display. Downside I'd say is it's expensive, and the best functionality should be included. As it gives the XREAL air 2's it's full functionality. Not only that look how Cool I look wear them hehe 🤗
