## Description

Seachem StressGuard Slime Coat Protection - Stress and Toxic Ammonia Reducer 250 ml

Review: Great product. - Man I love this stuff for african cichlid tanks. My fish are very aggressive toward one another, luckily the ones who have remained are still swimming. Ive had my african cichlid fish for about 5-6 years now. Some have perished due to aggressive behavior in the tank. Ive not got enough space for a quarantine tank. If you remove african cichlids remove the aggressive one or one's from the tank and not the beat up ones, and treat both tanks with medication. I cannot do that with the space I have, and I refuse to put my fish in a bucket I will not do it unless im moving them. I do not want my fish in a 5 gallon bucket or anything plastic for more than a day. This stuff has helped a lot of my Fish that are still alive which is 7 in a 75 gallon tank, ive lost 3 or 4 cant remember to aggressive behavior. I put this stuff in when I see fins being demolished by others, it has helped my fish overcome these injuries, no diseases in the tank as well that ive noticed. Great product I use it when I do water changes and after seeing nipped fins, I used the dose every 3 days after the nipped fins.
Review: Good product, bad delivery - My oscar fish got pretty beat up by another tankmate (which I got rid of after this). I did a couple salt dips after noticing a white outline on the edge of its fins. Its an albino so I couldn't tell if it was due to regrowth or infection. Either way the salt couldn't hurt. But the majority of the recovery was just using this. Seems to have worked well, some slow regrowth going now. He should make a full recovery. The bottle did arrive broken and it did spill inside the box. The lid snapped off. I don't think that was necessarily the companies fault as much as it was desertcart's. It took like half an hour going through menus just to get assistance. Absolutely ridiculous. But other than that it seems to have worked. Will continue dosing until it grows it back entirely. You can see the difference from the first day to now. First picture was on monday and the second was saturday. Not bad considering. It looks like it will be awhile before hes full go though. You can see his fins and tail were more frayed initially, but now they seem to be coming more together. I am doing frequent water changes now, to help it heal faster. I just redose for the amount I take out. I had a bottle of paraguard on standby seeing as I just started this tank, but I really should've have the stressguard instead. Will likely keep a bottle of this on hand now as well. EDIT: looking good. Pattern changed on it slightly since then, but its as happy as it was before the scuffle. Can hardly tell aside from a tiny bit missing off the top of the tail.

## Features

- AQUARIUM CARE: Use 1/2–1 capful (2.5–5 mL) of StressGuard to every 40 L (10 US gallons) every 24 hours until signs of stress have abated or healing is complete. A dose of StressGuard may be safely doubled.
- SAFETY: StressGuard has a pH of 7.0. It will not affect the pH of an aquarium, even at large doses, allowing for safe use in a reef or planted aquarium containing invertebrates

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this also used as a conditioner as well? Or do i have to use my prime water conditioner with this?**
A: No,I would say it is not. You would have to use Prime to condition your water. You can always e-mail Seachem and ask. I use lots of their products. One of the best companies out there. They have answered everyone of my e-mails.

**Q: Is this OK to use with freshwater snails?**
A: I chuckled when I saw your question; I use this product every time I do a water change, and since last winter I have been battling snails that came in unbeknownst to me on some plants (75 gal freshwater tank, lightly planted with low light tolerant plants). And they are prolific!! Based on my experience, I would say it it doesn't harm snails HOWEVER, not being an aqua-malacologist, I don't know if different species of snails react differently to meds. You could always send a question to Seachem to confirm. I do work with plants a lot, so a tip; if you know what kind of snails you have, include that information with your inquiry.

**Q: Can this product be used for saltwater aquariums?**
A: yes

**Q: Can this be used with Seachem prime?**
A: Yes
