In water purification, it causes impurities to coagulate which are removed as the particulate settles to the bottom of the container or more easily filtered. When dissolved in a large amount of neutral or slightly alkaline water, aluminium sulfate produces a gelatinous precipitate of aluminium hydroxide, Al(OH)3. In dyeing and printing cloth, the gelatinous precipitate helps the dye to adhere to the clothing fibres by rendering the pigment insoluble. Can change the colour of hydrangeas by reducing the PH value of soil. ## Features - Aluminium Sulphate in Crystaline form - Iron Free - suitable for use as a dye, mordant, water purifier and jar sterilizer and in paper-making - Can reduce soil PH to change Hydrangea's colour - Suitable for use in Organic Agriculture / Horticulture - Sometimes called Alum or Papermakers Alum. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B06W5VH2HZ | | Best Sellers Rank | 50,725 in Garden (See Top 100 in Garden) 1,049 in Garden Fertilisers | | Brand | Aluminium Sulphate | | Container Type | Bucket | | Country Of Origin | United Kingdom | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (40) 4.8 out of 5 stars | | Included Components | 3kg ALS04 | | Item Form | Powder | | Item Weight | 3 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | Trustleaf | | Manufacturer Part Number | TL-ALSO4-3 | | Unit Count | 3000 gram | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Aluminium Sulphate - **Item weight:** 3 Kilograms - **Package information:** Bucket - **Item form:** Powder - **Manufacturer:** Trustleaf ## Images ![Trustleaf 3kg Tub of Aluminium Sulphate Al2(S04)3 Iron Free - Mordant/Purifier/PH reducer - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41mS0da0spL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Feeling BLUE ???? *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 9 August 2026* Hoping to turn my once blue hydrangeas back to blue.....I bought this.
