RothcoWool Watch Cap with Brim – Wool Beanie Hat with Visor – Great for Winter Activities

Comfortable, warm, good looking wool knit cap with visor
The thick material does not let much light through. Should retain heat and block some wind, yet still breath. This soft wool does not itch. Fits my 54 cm head snugly without leaving a mark on my forehead. There is some excess material on top when the cap sits halfway up my ears but, disappears when pulled down below my ears and covers the back of my head and neck very well. I'm liking this wool cap more than the acrylic caps I have of the same style. This one will provide better protection in very cold weather. I like this GI Jeep style with a visor. Black looks great but does show lint. It's made in India but the stitching seems to be flawless.

Excellent beanie
Quality wool, well made, very warm and comfortable, and little itchy, but if it wasn't, I'd question if it were really wool. Will fit almost any head size- apparently, judging by other reviews, some people have heads the size of watermelons and the beanie doesn't fit. I don't have that problem.

NOT AS ADVERTISED.
I have purchased more than 15 different types of beanies off amazon this past yet, in search of ones I love, so I know how the quality ranges. This product claims to be wool, and the tag says it is wool, however it feels NOTHING like any of the wool beanies I have purchased and it feels EXACTLY like all of the acrylic (scratchy plastic threading) beanies I have purchased. Also this companies makes two styles as far as I have seen, one with a giant cone-head of leftover fabric on top, which as I understand it is meant to provide padding for helmets worn over it, and one that hugs the head. The one I purchased is supposed to be one that hugs the head and fits, as all the pictures here indicate, however I 100% got the conehead version, which as I have seen elsewhere is listed as 100% acrylic fabric. I wonder if there was not some mixup in the manufacturing of the product selling and putting the wrong tags on the wrong items. Lastly, this is meant to be one size fits all, and I am purchasing this to wear with my headphones/headset which does not fit my head even on the smalletst setting, thus I want to use a beanie to add padding to keep the headset up on my ears. So my head is not big by any means, yet this beanie is TIGHT around my head, and then a good 6 inches of conehead loosely sitting on top, its design makes no sense and is not what I ordered.

Radar O'Reilly would love this great quality and value by Rothco
My wife and I walk a lot (between 6-8 miles a day, over hills) in winter weather (temps often between 20-30 degrees F), so we need a hat that is warm, wind/water resistant, and breathable (a hat that is too warm/heavy will leave your head soaked in sweat during a good walk/hike). We got two Rothco knit caps (they are what we would call "Jeep caps" or "radar O'Reilly/MASH caps") - they both have brims), one made of blue wool (made in the USA or India), the other made of black acrylic (made in China). Both hats perform very well in the cold temps I described, plus in 10-15 mph winds, and moderate rain and snow. The wool cap stays warm when wet (which is why sailors have always used wool) and the acrylic does too. Both are very comfortable (the wool is very high quality - I didn't find it rough). The blue wool cap is more like a traditional Jeep cap in that it has a short, straight brim, the black acrylic one has a longer curved brim (see the image) - your choice as to which you prefer - either are a great deal (they can be had for under $10). You can't go wrong with either of these!

Nice quality, but not so nice size.
Thought it would work out because it said one size fits most. Guess I’m not one of the “most.” Sure, it fits on my head. But golly is it tight! It squeezes my ears so hard it actually starts to hurt. It will make a good gift to someone though! It is a good quality beanie!

Perfect
Very warm wool cap. I have other beenies that are really warm but I wear glasses, the visor on this cap shades perfectly from the sun's glare getting inside my glasses.

Does a good job of shading the eyes.
Wished it was just a tad thicker/warmer...but I like the bill, makes it a step up from regular stocking cap.

Solid choice
This cap gets full points. Is it large enough? Yes! I wear XL (61 cm for helmets) and this cap fits fine.Is the brim solid? Yes! It feels like plastic so it won’t get deformed and will withstand getting washed. Is it warm? Yes! Double layered, and soft enough to make me wonder if it’s a wool blend.Does it make me look like Radar? Sadly, no, but I can’t take points off for that.

Fast Shipping, Great Deal
Like the quality of the hat, the wool is an amazing material that stays pretty dry and the hat is warmer then most hats made of other materials.

Warmth and fitment
Have worn reqular wool beanies for many many years. This version is warm, fits my head nicely like the overall look, if snowing the brim adds a little more protection. May get another one, in olive.

Very warm!
Just what I was looking for. Fits my small head well, larger sized heads might not find it so comfortable

Weird fit
It’s a weird fit. It’s super tight for a 7 1/4 size head and there’s way too much fabric at the top. It doesn’t look like the images. It’s a strange fit.
