Hi will this single unit sync with my existing bt8500 enhanced call blocker cordless system - 1 of 4 units has now failed and would like to replace? l

I have successfully connected a BT8500 handset to this phone's base station using the Registration option of the Settings menu. It partly works.

What works: I can make/receive calls, incoming calls show on the Calls List, and answerphone messages can be accessed.

What doesn't work: I cannot access the handset-wide address book of names and numbers so I have to add selected names/numbers specifically on this handset; the 8500 handset doesn't appear in the list of handsets (phone book button) that can be called internally (ie via DECT rather by phone line).

Not tested: I've not tried adding this handset to an established call (ie another handset makes/answers a call, the 8500 tries to join the call).

So some restrictions, but if you can live with them, you get additional handsets that can be used with this base station.

Question 2

When new messages are recorded on the answerphone does it show an alert or give a new message noise?

Yes a light comes on at the base station and it beeps every couple of minutes until the message has been replayed.

Will this system work on a Virgin Media landline?

Don’t see why not. We’re with Sky and didn’t encounter any problems

Does the nuisance call blocker work if i use this phone in france? cold callers even worse than the uk..!!

Work it’s bloody brilliant I purchased one about a year ago and to be honest in that year I have had three , yes three phone calls which are not on my contacts list. Before purchasing the call blocker phone  I had 30 to 40  nuisance calls a day from 7am till 10 pm. I would thoroughly recommend  this . F we all bought this phone system the call centres would go out of business due to nobody answering the phone
