Absolutely in love with this grinder, the best investment for espresso!
I have a manual vintage espresso machine that uses a lever to push the espresso out. This is a step less grinder like it says in the description, but, it can go in between the levels for very accurate grinding. Right out of the box it was almost dialed in for espresso (a bit to coarse but only 3 levels to high). It came with 2 extra rings for the grind basket which was very nice.I've used it for about a month multiple times a day and it hasn't had any problems what so ever. I did notice that the more oily the beans, the more the grinds stick to the top of the basket/bottom of the grind wheel, but a few knocks and a scrape will get most of it off.The design is very rugged, it is a bit heavy in the hand, but it does seem to 'talk the talk'. I had a few incidents where it fell over by bumping it (onto the counter), but it still is in perfect condition but it does stand up by itself 100% of the time. The large price is very worth it considering they do sell replacement burrs and such in case you do use it that often, but for making a few cups a day, it is perfect for a quality item.

Great, grind size dial hard to understand for me
very well made. The grind adjustment dial doesn't really make sense to me despite watching a few videos and reading.

Highly recommended! Updated with pour over burr
Update - Replaced with the new “pour over” burr and wow what a difference it makes. The coffee taste like open up a lot and aroma is more intense and up a level. Worth the investment!Beating my expectation in every aspects, it is a fine and smooth device to operate. The construction is solid and precise. Coffee taste clean and consistent every time. Grinding is smooth and efficient even the light roasted Ethiopian beans. Highly recommend. Only grief is it arrived with some machine oils on all internal components. Had to take it apart and give a good wipe. It’d be nice if it can be cleaned before packaged.

Amazing Grinder
I switched from a cheap $15 coffee grinder to the Kinu M47. I am completely blown away by this grinder for so many reasons. It’s durable, easy to fill, easy to adjust, makes consistent grinds, and grinds 10x faster than my other grinder. Not only does it work faster, it feels smooth and doesn’t require much effort during the grind. If you’re a traveler and in need of something as tough as your adventures, this grinder is for you. You pay for what you get, and you get an amazing product. I rarely make reviews, but this deserved a great one.

Catcher Made of Super Cheap Plastic + Kinu's Customer Serivce Leaves You in the Dark!
My wife and I have had three catchers crack on us and we have not the slightest idea why or how. We do NOT machine wash them, only hand wash, and have not dropped them either but somehow they've all developed a crack. It'd be fine if they were cheap to replace but at $25 for a pack of two + shipping cost on top of that.... not worth it. The catchers are very much over priced being cheap plastic. On top of this, I have sent _multiple_ messages to Kinu's support team to see if I can get an in-warranty replacement but have not received a response - it's been two months, I'm being ignored, and I'm done following up! I will definitely not be buying a Kinu made product again mainly due to their bad customer service and if you happen to come across this review, I'd take this into consideration. To be clear, the seller on Amazon, Gear.Coffee, is responsive and helpful but could not due a warranty exchange as they're not the manufacture.

Low quality receiver
Less than 2 weeks of using it the receiver is made of low quality plastic, and there is no reply from Kinu customer service, and there is no spare parts available for sale for it any were.

Major issue with plastic catch cup!
I owned a new Phoenix for a few months and, like other reports here, the cup cracked. Ok, so I thought I was lucky to order extra cups at the same time (since they are impossible to find as of September 2021). However, they don't fit!! Aparently, Phoenix grinders made prior to August 2020 took narrower cups! WHAT? My well known online supplier did not even know that (but they kindly refunded my $25...expensive for easily cracked plastic). Not happy since grinder cost over $200.

Phoenix was the right choice for me!
The grind settings are a little confusing and the instructions are basically non existent.. what worked for me was to turn back to "zero" and then move back up the numbers until I hit desired consistency. This model doesn't have "click" noises during adjustment.I was able to produce a good pull with 1.9.5 as an initial setting with fresh espresso beans.Works great, tastes great, was the right model for me as the burrs between all three Kinu models are the same and the difference lies in plastic on superficial areas at the top/bottom of grinder.
