Worth The Effort To Replace Like For Like.
Apparently, roller-shutters using a manually operated pulley system are uncommon in the UK and so, according to contractors, parts are difficult to source. A quick Google search brought up precisely the part required i.e the complete replacement belt unit made by the manufacturers of the roller-shutter unit and stocked by Amazon. The alternative, a contractor offered to 'motorise' the roller system - no price quoted - but acquiring the exact replacement part turned the repair into a relatively straightforward DIY job for a total cost, including a pack of unnecessary self-tapping screws, of around £18. Good build quality and very good value at the price.
