The media could not be loaded.  Very easy to setup and I purchased it for next Christmas and just took my time shopping for what would be great to have around our Christmas tree it works perfectly.Love the trains sound and whistleAs for the smoke I guess you need a few minutes for the water to heat up

The media could not be loaded.  Great little set, really nice smoke effects. Is a bit loud either from the sounds or the motor itself but for a fun little train it does the job. Really only major complaint is it does not like even the slightest bump in the track. In other words if the tracks not on a flat surface it gets stuck alot. Had to adjust our tree skirt because of this so becaware. Other than that it runs great.

This works as advertised. However, it isn't going to win any awards for being "User Friendly".Firstly, the instructions are woefully inadequate. So I fussed and fumbled around with it for several minutes, before I finally figured out how to remove the coal car top, to put the battery in. I suppose in order to remove the battery, you are supposed to unscrew the little screw at the rear of the coal car, with the screwdriver that is provided, then screw it back in, every time the battery is removed for charging, then put back in after charging it.But why didn't they make just a simple little push latch, for that purpose? After all, this is supposed to be a child's toy, not a sophisticated Swiss watch.Then, the way the cars hook together is quite cumbersome. So it is quite difficult to get it right. Then, once you hook the locomotive to the rest of the cars, it is very difficult to plug the little power cord from the coal car into the locomotive, without undoing some of the progress you've already made. Then, the hookup for the power cable to the locomotive, once plugged in, it is is very difficult to get it unpluggedThe bottom line is, I would not recommend this train for any youngster to try to put it together, and get it going, without some able, mechanically inclined person be there for them to call upon for some help.Because I am quite adept with assembling models, and doing those kinds of things. And you expect those kinds of things to be somewhat difficult to assemble.But you don't expect a small train, which is rated as "a child's toy", for "3 4 5 6 7 8+Kids", to be so frustrating and difficult to get it assembled, and then to get it up and running.So I wouldn't rate this thing as being appropriate, for anyone lower in age, than a 9 year old.

I would have a better review had all the pieces been in the box. I got this as a gift for my nephew for Christmas but unfortunately his dad couldn't put it together because there's pieces missing. I was very disappointed and so was my nephew. I will not waste another dime on buying this product again.

I purchased it to go around my tree, and that’s where it is! So cute and adorable! Smaller than I hoped, but the smoke, the bell and it working is such joy! I did have a little trouble with it staying on the track, but we seem to got it straight now!
