Hallo. I think you will find that the vc8 is a different connection to the vc7. I think the connection is square on the vc8, the connection on the vc7 is round therefore they will not fit. Hope this is helpfull

does the shaped end square and round tube detach from the Turbo brush head ?

No, not from my knowledge. A little unhelpful on this issue. I know the brush is detachable from the cylinder. I know that additional attachments can be added to make the full length hoover in to a hand held. I hope this answers the question....
