Professional Leathercraft Awl Tool Kit Review.
I'm back for round two! My first experience with this Professional Leathercraft Awl kit (you know, the one with the black and white thread) was so positive that I decided to double down and get another set. There's a real sense of quality and thoughtful design with this brand. This new kit comes with a similar setup: the awl itself, a variety of needles (coarse, fine, and even a curved one!), and those essential spools of thread (black, white, and brown this time). What stands out is the "Made in USA" durability – these tools feel built to last, not just for a single project. The awl is comfortable to hold, surprisingly light, and the fact that the needles store inside the handle is a stroke of genius for portability. The surgical-grade stainless steel needles are seriously sharp, and the waxed thread is strong enough to tackle tough materials. This review represents my personal opinion and experience with this product. What a great tool to have.
I bought this stitching awl tool because I had to repair my canvas suitcase when traveling to my daughter's home. I received the tool in two day, stitch up my canvas suitcase that the airlines abused. The stitching awl tool came with three colors of thread (black, white & tan). The tool worked great! And very simple to use. Saved me $$ and time of going out purchasing another suitcase. I flew back home with two stops and the stitches in the suitcase held great. I'm glad that I purchase this great tool. I will use for it for many different repairs. I high recommend it if you are DIY type of person. Plus it's made is USA with good craftsmanship.

I dont really use it, but its good
I bought this thinking I needed it to sew leather goods. I used it a few times and it works well and I like it, and it seems decent enough quality, but its pretty expensive for what it is, and I learned to saddle stitch instead and I feel its easier and better than what you can do with this. This probably has its purpose for certain projects however and is still a handy item to have I'm sure, so I'm not gonna give it a bad review. I just think it costs about twice as much as it should and have seen almost the exact same thing in a different brand in stores for half the price. But that doesn't mean this is junk either... its as good as or better than anything else.

Great Tool!
I had a project that needed to be sewn through a leather belt and ballistic nylon. Honestly, I thought the project would be very difficult using a hand Awl. I used an old piece of leather to practice the stitch procedure. I stopped after four stitches. It was very easy to do. Then I moved on to my project still thinking it would be difficult to penetrate the materials. I was pleasantly surprised when the needle and thread went through with minimal effort! My finished job turned out perfect! I couldn't be more pleased. I love that the needles and tool store inside the handle. The tool is well made and should last me for a very long time. I highly recommend this product! I would buy it again without hesitation.

Quality Leather repair - AT HOME!!!
The handle on my favorite leather purse had come apart. I spent days searching for a leather repair place and didn’t find any close to me. I decided to see what was on amazon, as far as leather sewing...I figured I could buy a tool for less than having a shop fix my purse - I was right! I purchased this tool as it looked sturdy and was USA made. I have never worked with repairing or sewing leather before at all. I spent about an hour with this tool, the white cord and my purse and I repaired it myself! 😊 (I should also add, I do not have much use of my left hand, which made this a bit more challenging but still doable.) The other neat part is, now I have a tool to repair any other leather that may need help. I am very pleased with this awl the needles and the cord supplied! Thank you for a quality product that is also extremely useful!

Great item, super useful
This works perfect for my needs. I have used it to repair several leather items, dog toys, and canvas bags. I find it much easier to use than other like-products. Made in the USA is great also. It's twice as expensive as others, but glad I purchased.

Cost-effective and good beginner tool
The Stitching Awk is a cost-effective and simple solution. It was easy enough to learn on and works well for simple repairs. For more serious work, you will likely want something of higher professional grade and quality. I ended up breaking two of the included needles pretty quickly the first few times I used it.

I've made and repaired untold numbers of things with it. From leather to canvas work it is absolutely amazing to use. I own three of them lol...... One for my bug out gear, one for camping and traveling, and one for my projects and at home repairs. Also I was out practicing bushcraft last year and my pack strap tore from too much weight I was able to repair it on the spot with the lock stitch awl in under 5 minutes. I still use the stitched strap pack because the stitching hasn't moved an inch and it is holding Rock solid. The other strap is starting to go now too so I'll have to lock stitch it as well lol
