The Architect

I bought this album pretty much on the strength of hearing 'Make your own kind of music' and just before ordering it I decided to buy the deluxe edition, since it had four extra tracks and was only slightly more expensive. BUYER BEWARE, inexplicably 'Make your own kind of music' is not on the deluxe copy?

I dont normally listen to contemporary pop records finding them derivative. However this one has for me been the exception to the rule. Easily the best double album ive listened to since Lady Gaga debut. This album hit me hard from first listen.For starters the voice. Can this lady sing. Then its the variety from motown soul pastice to sixities pop to ballards its all here or enveloped in a contempoary spin. For me there is little filler material here. Just a consistent album which when finished makes you want to play again which i think in todays music is a rare thing.My advice is to buy the delux edition as you get extra tracks all worthy of hearing. I'd love to get see this on vinyl. Double gatefold sleeve in 180 milagram. Im interested in the packaging and how the cd booklet would look. Maybe they'd add her current none album single as a bonus track for side 4 so each side would contain 5 tracks.Cant wait to check out her back catalogue but also her next record. Maybe next year !!

Completed the album set just before seeing Paloma Faith play live at Delamere in Cheshire. Item arrived after a few weeks as it was part of an order that had a later release date & this part of the order arrived in the nick of time.

Brought it for my aunties birthday she loves it great music
