Seniors: Since nowadays newbalance design is biased against wide-toebox, is (freshfoam wide-width) equivalent to a (574 b-width) of year 2k?

I don't know specifically about the year 2k 574s, but the toe box on these seems pretty generous and the material is also stretchy but firm.

Confused - if the "hyperknit" is touted to offer "strategic stretch & support" - then why is there a photo-review stating it runs narrow?

The stretch seems to be above your foot from the lace area to the toe box but there isn't any stretch on the sides. Therefore, this v12 runs narrower for me since it is tighter in the midfoot up to the toebox (the toebox itself isn't tight) and I need to wear very thin socks and my foot still feels somewhat squashed. The shoe also seems to run longer than the v11.
